I first posted a teaser about this concept almost a year ago - July 28, 2025! I've had a working version for a long time, but the timing just didn't feel right. Well, the app still isn't perfect, but I've updated the algorithm so the quality is better than those early builds, and the UX is _slightly_ improved 🤔 So what is Retro 3D? (If you're just stumbling up on this) Retro 3D uses camera passthrough to simulate red + cyan 3D glasses. You start by finding "anaglyph 3D" content online (or at home if you have it), put the headset on, turn on the glasses mode in the app (the app applies a red filter to your left eye and a blue filter to your right eye - like looking through cheap paper glasses 😎), and then watch old 3D content. Does it work as well as the cheap glasses? No! But that's not the point. What is the point? That it's _possible_ to do this! I like to say "view _old_ 3D content in your _new_ 3D headset".
