(1) Field pea growers! Having issues controlling grubs in peas. Initially thought failures were due to a localised population of armigera which we see very few of. However have confirmed with @PestFactsSARDI only native budworm present. Has occurred across multiple clients.
@merindie1 @x_slimeminister hearing more and more reports trickle through of the same thing happening….
(3) If anyone has seen something similar sing out, currently at a loss as to what’s causing the failures. Would love to know if anyone has any theories for future management decisions! @cesaraustralia
(2) All treated with appropriate rates of SP insecticides, at correct timings. All applied with ground rigs and good water rates. Have had reports from others locally seeing similar. I haven’t seen failures in other crop types (beans/lentils). Peas are the common denominator…

Lentil ryegrass trial! Standing in the middle of the plot, 12m plots, historical windrow through the first rep. Control, Terrain, Sakura and Sakura + Terrain. No PSPE chemical. Sakura had pretty handy residual on milk thistle. Applied to bare soil. Terrain was hot, no ryegrass 🙄
Boom misses are always great ways to learn and refine, barley leaf rust taking hold in Leabrook for an area non traditional in the disease, pretty easy to justify the fungicide spend. Anticipating green leaf retention will be critical the way September has finished up 🤞🌾
Another day in paradise, sampling our Faba nutrition trial with the Leaftech Ag scanner. Pretty cool tech to be able to have a play around with. Second round of treatments due to go out now. Phenomenal potential around the place @AuNutrien @NickWellsSmith1 🌾☀️
Backdrops like these make spraying trials enjoyable! Second round of nutrition treatments going on beans. Enormous upside potential at the moment around the traps, wet feet starting to become a serious issue….. 😬

Turns out I chose the part of the paddock with no ryegrass. Has turned into a pseudo broadleaf/vigour trial. Terrain offering excellent control of milk thistle, Sakura also offering excellent control. The combination looks good, terrain certainly knocks the vigour.
Frozen this morning to a balmy 20deg. Good living weather. Early nutrition treatments going out on beans. Plenty to follow. Plenty of questions due to lack of research, looking at reducing flower abortion/increase pod set. You don’t know what you don’t know! – at Riverton, South Australia
Yet to be disappointed by an Ultro job this season. Any escapes have severely compromised root systems. Exy up front spend but well worth every dollar to take the immense pressure off cleth/factor. Plenty of long term seed banks rearing their ugly heads! @Adama_AU – at Riverton, South Australia
Pleasantly surprised by the job Atrazine/Terbyne are doing on ARG this year. Superior control IBS, some in furrow escapes. Where applied PSPE lesser control overall but has certainly taken the colour and vigour out of early grass. Good moisture ✅ Control ⬆️ All smiles 😀
Welcoming slugs to the 2026 party, a nice indication of the presence of decent moisture. Having a fair crack in lentils. Paddock was smashed in 2023 after a wet 2022 across non traditional areas. Damage isolated to more traditional areas at this stage. @PestFactsSARDI – at Riverton, South Australia
A nice morning putting out IBS treatments for ARG control. Having a look at splits and mixtures to assess bang for buck. Hopefully get back to do the PSPE treatments before the big wet 🤞Propyzamide, Ultro, Terrain Flow and Sakura all in the mix.
Yellow Header > PCT > Ops Centre > VR MAP down the tube. Good fert history and soils allow it to be done confidently. A reallocation across the block resulting in about 1500kg of fert left in the truck compared to a blanket application🤞now for the true break to come!
