Here's a cool map I made: Walking vs Biking 10 minutes from every @sdmts trolley stop. 6.5x more area covered biking. Biking and transit can work together beautifully.

It used to take 191 taps to sign up and ride transit in San Diego, now it'll take just one. Contactless payments launch today! I never would've guessed my tweet would lead to the creation of @ride_sd and so many people coming together to make easy fare payments a reality.
Signing up for a transit pass in San Diego is anything but PRONTO It took me 191 clicks to sign up and load money into the Pronto App. It took 13 clicks to sign up and pay for Uber. Improving first time user experience is a must if we want more people taking transit, a thread⤵️

It's happening! I just used my credit card to pay for the bus! MTS has entered the final testing phases of contactless payments ahead of the launch in the next week or so.

$190M in funding for public transit is headed to San Diego! Governor Newsom finally release the SB125 funding that was originally supposed to be delivered a few months ago.

Really smart use of empty dorms over summer break, and I love that it includes a five-day @sdmts transit pass

Opinion: The rail corridor between L.A. and San Diego is too important not to fix. Why wait? dlvr.it/T85sz8 [Opinion]

NUMBY: Not Under My Back Yard It honestly makes no sense to me why train haters wouldn’t want the rail line buried underground where they don’t have to look at it.

"Saving" New York businesses by taxing them higher instead of charging New Jersey drivers. LOL good plan

Goi Cuon is my goto favorite restaurant in Hillcrest and they're participating in tomorrow's @SANDAG Bike Local Day! Discount for people biking, which is easier than trying to find parking. Located between 4th & 5th ave bikeways. Highly recommend one of their combos.

Imagine bragging about building 2 million square feet of parking instead of a train to the airport
The New T1 Parking Plaza will be over 2 million square feet with three elevator cores that align with these open lightwells. The first phase opens late summer! ☀️ #SanDiegoAirport #NewT1

I was trolling, but here’s a real photo from East County
Actual photo I took out near mount laguna of the aurora glow. 3 second exposure on iPhone, but wasn’t really visible to the naked eye

Lots of new homes in the urban core. Fantastic. This is exactly where we should be building lots of new housing. But now there's a clear need for better public transit. Bus lanes and BRT can help, but long term I dream of a North Park/Hillcrest/Bankers Hill trolley or subway.

Speaking of new transit... here's where the purple line subway is being planned. It misses much of the new density. If we're going to spend huge $$$ on a region changing project like this, we should upzone now to build dense housing near every stop.
