At the @TurnkeyClassic in Knoxville, with talent everywhere and big-time squads rolling in from multiple states, the matchups were already wild. But the game that stole the entire day for me came from @BoydCountyHigh featuring Kentucky Mr. Basketball candidate The Bucket Mystro, @JSpur2026, taking on the prep powerhouse Next Level Academy out of Georgia. This one turned into an old-school shootout fast. Next Level came out blazing behind @ConnorTeasley11, who stepped on the floor and immediately started testing the gym’s limits. I’m talking parking-lot range, y’all. The kid was pulling from everywhere and splashed his way to a 26-24 lead after one. And the crazy thing… he was just getting warmed up. But The Bucket Mystro didn’t walk in alone. He brought the whole Boyd County crew ready to throw flames of their own. Boyd stormed back and grabbed a 53 -48 halftime lead behind Jacob’s 18 first-half points, and he stood just three threes away from 500 career makes. Meanwhile, Teasley kept firing rockets and finished the half with 29 points. Unreal stuff. The second half turned into a dogfight. Jarred Smith came alive for Next Level, and the whole thing turned into a heavyweight brawl that wasn’t letting up. Boyd held a tight 67-66 edge heading into the fourth, and with every possession, the intensity kept rising. Jacob added two more threes to inch closer to history, but the real story was how both teams locked in defensively. Every shot was contested, every drive was physical, every bucket felt earned. But games like this always come down to execution and heart. Boyd County had both. Behind Jacob’s 33 points and a huge performance from #23 Malachi Payne with 22 points, including the game-winning free throws, Boyd escaped with the 88- 86 victory. Next Level didn’t go down quietly. Teasley finished with a nasty 37 points, and Jarred Smith delivered 21 big ones of his own. This game was fast, furious, and filled with a barrage of triples that had the crowd losing their minds. Easily one of the most entertaining battles of the day.
