Asked if he has any regrets on COVID-era inmate settlement, Cooper says, “The court ordered this, and the court likely would have ordered a lot more at the end of the day. The fact is I fought this. The prisons officials made the decisions regarding specific prisoners.” #ncpol

Coming into November, every North Carolinian should know the name Justin Ellis Jackson
This Fayetteville father was murdered in a home invasion by a convicted killer just three weeks after he was released early from state custody by Roy Cooper
Is this case even more egregious than DeCarlos Brown and Iryna Zarutska?

Nineteen days later, he killed again

How many North Carolinians are dead, killed by criminals that Cooper had just granted early release to?
That number should be zero, but it isn't

It's abominable that Gov. Roy Cooper is trying to portray himself as a "law and order" candidate when he let murderers, stranglers, rapists, pedos, etc. out of prison
Tyrell D. Brace had been convicted of assault by strangulations, as well as habitual breaking and entering
After his early release in 2021, Brace murdered Elante’ Nasir Thompson
Thompson's mother: "Why would you release somebody like that?"
"They’re already showing they’re a gangster to society. You’re going to release a menace on the street?"

When Calvin Locklear killed a Fayetteville man in a home invasion in 2021, we had no way of knowing that he had just been released early under Roy Cooper's settlement
It may be five years later, but these stories are being told for the first time at @CooperReleased

DeCarlos Brown was included in Roy Cooper's early release settlement
But does his directly implicated Cooper Iryna Zarustka's murder
It's hard for me to make that argument since it was merely an EARLY release and the stabbing was four years later: Brown would certainly have been out anyway even if this settlement hadn't taken place
But there are criminals who immediately reoffended after their early release, like Calvin Locklear, a convicted killer who killed again in a Fayetteville home invasion nineteen days after his early release date
If he had been kept in state custody after violating his parole, he wouldn't have been able to take part in this horrific crime, and perhaps the victim would still be alive today
It's stories like this that I'm focused on exposing at @CooperReleased
Is Roy Cooper responsible for Iryna Zarustka's murder?
Here's why we're investigating the early release settlement five years after the thousands of criminals were out early
The list of these offenders wasn't released until earlier this year, revealing that multiple of these convicts did commit heinous crimes just after being released
For instance, Calvin Locklear killed a Fayetteville father in a home invasion just weeks after being released early from state custody under the settlement
Until the name Calvin Locklear is as widespread as DeCarlos Brown, Cooper Released Him will continue working to educate the people of North Carolina

I went to the Cumberland County Courthouse to pull some public records today. It felt like the courthouse was going out of its way to deny folks the ability to access court documents.
So now I’m curious: Is it really this hard to view court files?
Surely this isn’t legal. 👀

A recent article has highlighted three vile Catawba County criminals who reoffended after early release by Gov. Roy Cooper
Are there any Catawba citizens interested in collaborating with @CooperReleased to help get these stories out to the public with further investigation and engaging content?
Stories like Iryna Zarutska and DeCarlos Brown resonated with the public because of the facts and visual imagery dug up and presented on social media
In addition, interviews with victims, their relatives, etc. can help make these stories real and remind the public that the cost to these decisions is born by real people
There are stories like these of violent criminals, murderers, pedophiles, etc. across the entire state: if you're interested in helping out in your local community, please reach out

A convicted child sex predator who was listed under Gov. Roy Cooper's early release settlement was rearrested on similar charges just after his release
Jason Dewayne Cuthbertson was charged with possessing child sexual abuse material and failing to register as a sex offender in March/April 2021, while Cooper was still continuing to release rapists, murderers, and other child sex predators
Cuthbertson had been convicted of taking indecent liberties with a 13-year-old child in 2014, and was reimprisoned in October 2020 for violating his release

Gov. Cooper let a criminal out, and he killed his daughter with his drug habit
In 2024, a pair of Catawba County parents were charged with murder after deputies found their 16-year-old daughter deceased from ingesting fentanyl/methamphetamines
Lucas Shayne Scronce, the father, is one of the 4,234 criminals released early by Gov. Roy Cooper, and one of at least 19 of these offenders convicted of murder or manslaughter since their release
Scronce plead guilty, and is currently serving a 15-19 year sentence for the murder of his own child

It's like no one at the legislature looked at the list and just trusted the governor. The same Gov who kept Republican Council of State members from attending Council of State meetings.
What did they think? He could be trusted?
