you can see everything is, in part, about how spotting a work doesn't neccesarily break the spell of getting worked. the pleasures of it & the irreconcilable parsing too strong. knowing kayfabe doesn't break it bc it's a fusion w/ reality. oh but the riches found in the pursuit

Next week’s episode of CUPERTINO is one of my favorites. Please watch it. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

new kinds of guys being invented daily
one funny note about YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING is that [REDACTED] looks very beautiful in the film, which I was confused by because I never thought of her in that way, but then I realized it’s because I’ve only seen her in media where she’s surrounded by other attractive actors

okay, but what's Neon supposed to do about All of a Sudden being released theatrically in Japan in June, which would've been a terrible time to release it in the US?
Yes. Definitely. But I hope the film industry one day wakes up & realizes this happens BECAUSE international release dates are so far apart. If it's on VOD in any country, it's out for everyone online. And this will never ever change. It's the distribution that is the problem.

this year, at TIFF, i decided to not get stressed and just see whatever i wanted. and guess what? i saw whatever i wanted, i wasn't stressed at all, and i had a wonderful time. the mind is an amazing thing.

imo, having anything worthwhile to say about oppressive qualities of corporatized art does, unfortunately for those who hate it, require actually engaging with it

that online discourses, often driven by marketing, make consuming art feel like homework is hardly a new thought, but it's hard not to make it sound "woe is me" hell, Soraya wrote about it (to some controversy) back in 2019 longreads.com/2019/04/26/whe…
