Is @Wetherspoons @SirTimMartin aware of what some of their managers and staff are doing across the country?
Today at The Star Wetherspoons in Gosport, a large group ā estimated at 30ā50 members of the public, plus an officially registered Royal British Legion poppy seller with his charity ID, collection tin and poppy stock ā were refused entry simply for wearing remembrance poppies, Union flag badges or St GeorgeāsāCross emblems. The manager reportedly told them these were āpolitical itemsā and not permitted.
What is striking to many onlookers is that customers have reported seeing staff wearing rainbow lanyards, Palestine flag badges and āStand Up To Racismā pins inside the same and other Wetherspoons venues ā items which appear to be allowed, while symbols of national remembrance and British patriotism are being turned away at the door.
This is not an isolated incident:
ā
The Picture House, SuttonāināAshfield ā a customer was refused entry while wearing a Union Flag dress earlier this year
ā
Multiple unconfirmed reports from other towns of people turned away for St GeorgeāsāCross or Union flag badges
ā
Today in Gosport: Police were present at the door, telling people the venue was closed ā even though diners were clearly visible inside. It is important to note: police are not private doormen. Their role is only to assist if people are asked to leave and refuse to go ā not to stand guard to block entry before anyone has stepped inside.
The remembrance poppy has never been a political symbol. It exists solely to honour our service men and women who fought and died for this nationās freedoms ā including the freedom of pub managers to make these decisions. Wetherspoons itself has previously supported the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal and stated poppies are welcome in its pubs. Yet many regular longātime patrons, veterans and their families now feel targeted by what appears to be inconsistent application of rules by some staff ā many of whom are younger student workers who seem to be applying their own personal views rather than official company policy.
WE ARE CALLING FOR A NATIONWIDE BOYCOTT OF ALL WETHERSPOONS ESTABLISHMENTS UNTIL THIS MATTER IS FULLY ADDRESSED BY SIR TIM MARTIN OR SENIOR COMPANY LEADERSHIP. OUR GREATEST POWER IS AS CUSTOMERS: IF WE WITHDRAW OUR CUSTOM AND STOP SPENDING OUR HARDāEARNED MONEY ACROSS THEIR PUBS, THE BUSINESS WILL HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO LISTEN, INVESTIGATE THESE INCIDENTS, AND PUT CLEAR GUIDANCE IN PLACE FOR EVERY MANAGER AND MEMBER OF STAFF.
We are asking @Wetherspoons @SirTimMartin directly:
š¹ Are poppies, Union flag badges and St GeorgeāsāCross symbols officially banned in Wetherspoons?
š¹ If not ā why are managers across different sites interpreting the rules this way?
š¹ What concrete steps will be taken to ensure consistent guidance is given to all pub teams nationwide, and that those who have been turned away receive an apology?
If you have been refused entry to a Wetherspoons for wearing a poppy, Union flag or St GeorgeāsāCross badge ā drop your story and location in the comments below. SHARE THIS POST FAR AND WIDE SO AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE KNOW WHY WE ARE STEPPING BACK FROM SPENDING AT WETHERSPOONS UNTIL WE GET ANSWERS AND PROPER ACTION.

I can only assume that the Wearhetspoon poppy ban is a isolated incident as Tim Martin supports the poppy appeal in his pubs .
If people with poppies canāt enter his pubs how can they support the Weatherspoons poppy appeal? gbnews.com/news/wetherspoonsā¦

Iāve just seen the video of the manager at the Gosport Wetherspoons confirming it is company policy. This comes from the top. Tim Martin is denying entry to people wearing poppies. Outrageous. Disgusting.
Go woke, go broke.
BOYCOTT WETHERSPOONS NOW!!!

This is fucking outrageous. Wetherspoons are now denying people entry for wearing a poppy. Tim Martin, what the actual fuck are you doing?
This is so beyond the pale. Why do you hate our country so much? A poppy is a symbol of remembrance and respect for our fallen heroes. Come on.
There must now be a national boycott of Wetherspoons. Support businesses that support our country and respect our servicemen who gave their lives for this country.

Andy Burnham wants to reopen the debate on EU free movement.
Meanwhile, Britain has 981,000 young people not in employment, education or training.
Nearly ONE MILLION young people.
Shouldn't we be focusing on getting them into work, improving skills and creating opportunities before looking abroad for more workers?
Our young people deserve a chance.

The country is already governed by thicko's like Rayner, who left school pregnant with no educational attainments and boy does it show. She is as thick as two planks, as she so aptly demonstrates here in this interview and she is a Labour MINISTER God help us all
This is one of the most blatant examples of gaslighting youāll ever see.
This clip sums up the Labour Party. It sums up Angela Rayner. And, frankly, it sums up too most politicians.
Laura Kuenssberg asks Rayner about Andy Burnham opening the door to a return to freedom of movement. Heās started the debate by talking about it.
Kuenssberg: āThe Labour manifesto in 2024 said in black and white āthere will be no return to freedom of movementā. You stood on that manifesto. Andy Burnham promised to stick to that manifesto. Heās breaking that promise, isnāt he?ā
Then this from Rayner: āNo he isnāt, because heās been really clear that this Parliament, that manifesto, we are clear we are not reopening that debate.ā
Unbelievable. Even by her standards.
Kuenssberg put her right immediately: āHeās literally just reopened this debate. Itās exactly whatās just happened.ā
She denies the debate has been reopened in the same breath as it is being reopened. They will say anything, no matter how obviously contradictory.
We watch car crash after car crash from Labour ministers, yet they keep rising in the polls. No wonder the country is in such a mess.

Net zero added Ā£140.3bn to Britain's electricity bills in 2002ā24: Ā£2,286 for the average household. Modelled, in 2024 prices. Nobody official counts it. Parliament should require a yearly statement, with data anyone can check.

Harman Singh Kapoor ran his London restaurant for 16 years.
He refused to serve halal. His business, his right.
So he was targeted. Threats. Mobs outside his door. Death threats, he says.
And in March, when the police finally showed up, who did they cuff?
Not the mob. Not the people threatening him and vandalising his business.
Harman. The victim.
That's Sadiq Khan's London. Stand up for your beliefs and you're the one in the back of a police van.

Well maintained in 2006. Canāt be arsed to maintain properly and just plaster with tarmac patches in 2026. British civic pride decay in a nutshell.

Gas prices are currently through the roof at perhaps £70-80/MWh (it's cheaper in summer).
Our utterly craven government are offering green hydrogen manufacturers £240/MWh, fixed price, year round, so that power stations can burn hydrogen instead of gas.
They hate you. They really hate you.

France and Germany offer to supply Argentina submarines amid Falklands threat as Andy Burnham seeks Brexit reset. So while Burnham is sucking up to the EU, they are planning to knife us in the back of the Falklands. We are defending the EU from Russia all the while they are planning to supply our enemies. Get Labour OUT.
