NO LONGER UNTOUCHABLE? An international rights group is calling on the International Criminal Court to immediately issue arrest warrants for former and current government officials recently identified as "co-perpetrators" in the alleged crimes against humanity committed during Rodrigo Duterte’s war on drugs. In a statement released on February 14, the International Coalition for Human Rights in the Philippines (ICHRP) welcomed the ICC's tagging of these officials, who were previously listed as redacted names in court filings. In laying down the charges against Duterte, the ICC Prosecutor also just made the world smaller for his co-perpetrators by naming them. They include Bato dela Rosa, Bong Go, Vitaliano Aguirre II, and several PNP officials. Time and again, we warned this people, even from prison, that this day will come. Like Duterte, they did not listen. Mayayabang pa sila. Many of them will now go into hiding, joining Bato on the lam. No matter, Justice will always catch up with them. Justice will be  served. Panahon na ng pagpapanagot sa pagpatay sa mga kapwa Pilipino! Oras na ng pagbabayad sa mga krimen laban sa sangkatauhan! #JusticeIsComing

In the summer of 2000, Danny Stewart, a social worker, was rushing to meet his partner, Peter Mercurio, for dinner when he noticed something unusual at the 14th Street subway station in the Chelsea district of Manhattan. What initially appeared to be a doll turned out to be a newborn baby, wrapped in a sweatshirt. The baby was alone, with his umbilical cord still partially intact, indicating he was just a day or so old. Stewart immediately called the police and stayed with the baby until they arrived. The baby was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital in stable condition. A few months later, Stewart was invited to testify at a family court hearing. The judge asked Stewart if he would be interested in adopting the baby. Stewart instinctively said yes. The couple, who had not previously considered starting a family, decided to adopt the baby, believing that Stewart finding the baby was not a mere coincidence. They named the baby Kevin. The couple went through parental training and a lengthy adoption process before they could officially call Kevin their son. In 2011, Stewart and Mercurio got legally married, with the judge who had proposed the adoption officiating the ceremony. Fast forward to the present day, Kevin is now a 20-year-old college student, studying mathematics and computer science. He stands over six feet tall, towering over his dads.

Yesterday, I visited the cemetery to see my daughter who passed away as a baby. As I was leaving, I noticed a man, He was talking to himself, carrying a sleeping bag, and it was evident that he was unwell and had nowhere else to go. The day was hot, and I watched him take a drink from the cemetery tap in the rear view mirror Driving home, I couldn’t get him out of my mind. Halfway there, I turned the car around and went to a food shop to get him some fish and chips along with two drinks. When I returned to the cemetery, he was still there. I gave him the food, and he asked me if I was his Aunt Stella. I tried to ask how he was doing, but he was often off-topic, clearly struggling with his health. Yet, he was polite and gentle Not gonna lie, I did cry How did we get here? How did we return to a time reminiscent of the Victorian era, where vulnerable people are left like this, In all the political posturing and noise, where is the care and support for the most vulnerable? As I left him, I realized I never asked his name. I wondered how long it had been since someone called him by his name, a basic form of recognition, acknowledging his humanity 📹the sleeping bag on a bench in the rear view mirror

Since Bamban mayor "Alice Guo" is not the real Alice Leal Guo but a 2003 Chinese child immigrant identified as Guo Hua Ping, and who merely stole the identity of the real Alice Leal Guo, the immediate legal remedy against her is a warrantless arrest by the Bureau of Immigration for serious violations of her visa conditions, and detention at the immigration deportation facilities pending her trial for the multiple criminal offenses she has committed. If convicted, it is only after service of her sentence should she be deported by the BI to China where she belongs. The DOJ should just treat this, initially, as a simple immigration case where a legal warrantless arrest on Guo can be enforced for violation of immigration laws, instead of still waiting for the filing of criminal cases against her with the courts before a warrant of arrest can be served on her. It would also be then unnecessary to still file a quo warranto case against her if the purpose solely is to put her immediately under preventive detention and stop her from performing her spurious position as mayor of Bamban after the lapse of her current preventive suspension period. The DOJ and other relevant agencies should take a proactive stance in dealing with Chinese criminal syndicates in our midst and energetically enforce our immigration laws against them in order to stop their illegal activities. Our national security is at stake. Sapat ang ating mga batas sa immigration para habulin ang mga Chinese criminal syndicates. Kailangan lamang itong gamitin at ipatupad nang tapat at masigasig.
“This confirms what I have suspected all along. ‘Mayor Alice’ — or should I say, Guo Hua Ping — is a fake Filipino,” Sen. Risa Hontiveros said. onenews.ph/articles/with-vid…
