I don't care Obama has a library in Chicago. He should have one in the city, makes sense. Even as a real environmentalist (not an artificial green energy eco-fascist/climate alarmist/ solar farm windmill worshiper), the original dispute with its location and the Protect our Parks group that sued trying to block construction doesn't bother me either. Normally taking over a park like this would upset me, but in this case, Chicago does not dissuade its homeless drug addicts and violent gangs from setting up shop anywhere they please, so the library will mean one fewer option for a crime ridden homeless encampment in the area. Of course I expected it to go over budget in the millions. It's Chicago. Did you honestly believe it would be on time and under budget? (Laughing). HOWEVER, I am shocked the project managers and the city allowed this monstrosity to be constructed in the most iconic and beautiful skyline in the world (my opinion). Assuming the city had to review the blueprints? Who's in charge of that process? Chicago is the modern architecture capital of the world. This city descends from the likes of Frank Lloyd Wright and Louis Henry Sullivan. How could the people behind this project, hand-picked by Obama and his Foundation to build his presidential library, construct something so far removed from the skyline? This is not about Obama's presidency, obviously not a fan, but isn't he offended by this? He's from Chicago. He knows by looking at this thing it doesn't fit. It's the fugliest looking building in the city (not including the dilapidated abandoned properties, they still take first place). But for how much money it took to build, I would be furious if I were Obama. I would also be offended by the number of contractors that haven't been paid, including some who had to shutter their doors because they were required to personally invest so much time, money and human capital into the project. The Obama Foundation should take the financial hit to fix the exterior curtain wall/ facade. The interior whatever, I don't care. The exterior looks like a communist prison. It just hit me as I'm typing this..maybe that was the intention. It does fit after all..
FROM KENOSHA COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY XAVIER SOLIS
ILLINOIS MAN ANTONIO D. SUMMERS CONVICTED OF MURDER
Kenosha County District Attorney Xavier Solis announced that a jury found Antonio D. Summers of Waukegan, Illinois, guilty on five felony counts following a jury trial lasting approximately a week and a half. Assistant District Attorney Morgan Millar prosecuted the case.
The jury returned guilty verdicts for first-degree intentional homicide, use of a dangerous weapon, as a repeater; attempted armed robbery, as a repeater; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, as a repeater; and two counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, use of a dangerous weapon, as a repeater.
The case arose from the fatal shooting of Kenosha resident Deshun Jackson on April 23, 2023. According to the criminal complaint, Summers pulled a firearm during a poker game at an apartment in the City of Kenosha and demanded Jackson’s money. Summers then shot Jackson multiple times and fled. Responding officers found Jackson suffering from gunshot wounds, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
“This case is another example of an Illinois resident coming into Kenosha County and committing a devastating act of violence. Summers killed a Kenosha resident and endangered others. Our community should never have to bear the consequences of someone crossing the state line to commit violent crimes,” said District Attorney Solis.
“Anyone considering coming into Kenosha County to commit a violent crime should understand this: we will work with law enforcement to identify you, prosecute you, and seek a sentence that reflects the harm you caused and protects our community.”
Summers is scheduled to appear before Judge Rossell for sentencing on December 16, 2026, at 3 p.m. His conviction for first-degree intentional homicide carries a mandatory sentence of life imprisonment.
“ADA Morgan Millar is a talented and dedicated prosecutor who worked tirelessly to prepare this case. She made sure she had the evidence, witnesses, and resources needed to present it effectively. Her preparation, attention to detail, and passion for seeking justice were evident throughout this trial. I am proud of her hard work and commitment to the victim, the victim’s family, and our community.”
“These verdicts cannot undo the loss suffered by Mr. Jackson’s family, but they hold Summers accountable for his actions.”

Wisconsin governor's race: David Crowley says he's in favor of installing tollways. As a former resident of Chicagoland, I would spend $40 per month and that would only cover door-to-door travel to work everyday. That would NOT include driving to the grocery store, visiting friends or family or any other drive time. I've clocked it several times--I have documented proof. This is just another TAX for residents. If you factor in all of your drive time, this can easily cost you upwards of 100 bucks a month. Don't believe me? Ask people from Chicago.
Wisconsin governor's debate: "I don't think any of our county sheriffs or police departments should be working with ICE," says David Crowley. Meanwhile in Kenosha:
David Gaspar Raymundo-Perez was sentenced to 16 years in Wisconsin State Prison for possession of child pornography. Raymundo-Perez, an illegal alien from Guatemala who was previously deported in 2019, and return during Democratic leadership open border policies. Kenosha County sent a clear message: we prosecuted and convicted a child predator, and after he serves that sentence, he will be turned over to ICE for deportation from the United States.
