The final thing I’ll add for the gen2/remake debate. At least you can get every pokemon in the dex. Gen 4 straight up before platinum locks you out of two pokemon unless you have the gba carts inserted into your DS. Then it’s a 5% chance to even get the item.

For years I’ve been saying that the Johto level curve is an issue that does not exist Finally a YouTuber that actually plays these games and proves it’s not an issue. An OG Poketuber too Its so refreshing after many modern Poketubers have turned it into a common misconception

Like gen 2 and the remakes aren’t perfect but it’s like damn dude I see people upset at these games and then use examples of other games they like that have these issues 10X worse. Gen 4 in total before platinum locks up to 50 pokemon with gen 3 games needed to even get them.

My thoughts on the gen 2 /remake debate. I fully get it grinding sucks but Jesus man a lot of you are playing these games in ways they were not ever intended to be played. A pokemon game actually wants you to live in the world and play it daily and this is a bad thing ?

People will really try to say “grinding” ruins the pacing. This is the same region that is designed to be slow small towns with one dedicated to slowpoke and people want to act like the game has fast pacing. Bro live inside the RPG and explore the world lol.

i have no idea why so many people critical of the johto games are just scared of the concept of... actually putting time into the game they play? johto was not meant to be a rush, it introduced a time system to keep you coming back to do more every day, piece by piece.

I don’t like grinding in gen 2 or the remakes but bro…. It’s a JRPG. Grinding it’s part of RPG’s if you don’t want to form a plan and strategize beating the elite 4 under leveled. Grinding should be a last resort over team planning and what not.

Also keep in mind when these games were made “gen 2” they are designed for the player to live in the world and do things for months in it while catching everything. (When this was possible) the game does things for grinding that aren’t just wild battling” use them
