Only things I'd add are ARR/head to get a proxy for how opex is scaling with ARR growth (super or sub-linear) and break out variable gross selling burn from net burn (leaving net opex burn) to understand if the business is getting closer or further away from opex break even

There is a real risk of false positives right now because in almost every industry, every company feels pressure to buy "AI". I do think the potential is huge, but founders will find that the strength of customer signal or even early traction may be a head fake.

Moving from monthly to annual pricing has its place 💔But it >doesn't< reduce churn It just masks it for 2-12 months 😢It doesn't make the product any better, or customers any happier It just traps them a little longer

In 2022, you could blame the markets In 2023, you could blame "macro" impacts In 2024, you could still claim we were in a "downturn" In 2025 -- you've run out of excuses

> take over an operation struggling to make interest payments > fire management > replace with your own operations teams > find ways to cut excess spending and streamline processes > use cash for new fund the USA is deploying the private equity playbook and it’s beautiful

Lacking real problems, a lot of people immediately stress out about fake or minor ones. It's like there's a minimum level of stress that they require.

New study: An analysis of 400 occupations found that taxi and ambulance drivers had the lowest proportion of deaths from Alzheimer’s—raising the possibility that constant stimulation of the hippocampus, used for navigational and spatial processing, might be protective

the reason you feel insane is because all of your "hobbies" are nothing more than glorified consumption. you won't find God in $15k a month of skis, camera gear, or coffee machines. you NEED to create something, just go BUILD, a chair, a bench, carve some wood, anything, please

One of the most fun times in a startup is when things are working, you're growing, but you all still fit in one room. I visited a startup yesterday that's at $50M run rate and 70 people in one big open space in the office and the energy was electric.
