Streamers really think 27 year olds get off of work and be typing "W mans" and "gyatt" in the chat

A total miscalculation of the role music plays in most people’s lives.
Spotify just announced a feature that could either save the music industry or destroy it. Starting as early as Q1 2027, Spotify Premium subscribers will be able to use AI to transform any participating artist’s song into a completely different version. Turn a folk ballad into a dance track. Make a hip-hop song sound acoustic. Generate a cover where one artist’s voice performs another artist’s song. Remix a pop hit into lo-fi study music. Create the version of your favorite song that only existed in your head until now. The remixes will be uploaded directly to Spotify. They’ll appear in playlists. They’ll count toward the original song’s chart position. And most importantly the original artist will earn royalties every time someone listens to a fan-created remix of their work. Spotify has already signed a landmark licensing deal with Universal Music Group the world’s largest record label. Negotiations with Sony Music and Warner Music are ongoing. The feature will cost an additional $4–$5/month on top of Spotify Premium. And analysts project 7–8% of American subscribers will adopt it by 2028. This is not Suno or Udio generating music from text prompts. This is fans remixing real songs by real artists with the artists’ permission, on the world’s largest streaming platform, with royalties flowing back to the creators. A music industry analyst who’s covered streaming economics for 15 years told her team something after reading the licensing agreement that reframed how she understood the future of recorded music. “Spotify just turned 640 million listeners into 640 million potential remixers. The question isn’t whether people will use it they will. The question is whether paying artists for fan remixes solves the economics of streaming or creates a world where the original recording is worth less than the infinite remixes generated from it.” Here’s what Spotify’s AI remix feature actually is, who wins, who loses, and why this might be the most consequential decision in the music industry since the launch of streaming itself 🧵

if you’ve been humbled by process or even effort, you tend to have fewer opinions, and you voice them even less
a lot of people speak with the kind of confidence you can only get by never having done or having to do the work

The idea that creatives need to post a lot of content daily is the reason why a lot of artists have loose touch with their authenticity as a creative. Creativity shouldn't be forced a lot of y'all have turned into algorithm saturators. Slow to down.

Because Ugandan Promoters only focus on LED screens and don’t care about sound.
why are nairobi concerts so expensive? the same artist will go to uganda or tanzania on the same/following weekend and tickets are a fraction of the price, something is not adding up

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 but we told you people your pastor was trash during that Naguru land scandal, and you said we are just jealous. May your hearts break more!!!!!!!!!
Papa, when I was told that you had attended that meeting, I told my colleagues that you were obeying powers and principalities, just as you have always taught us. But when I listened to your submission, I was heartbroken. The fact that it was another pastor who spoke about political prisoners, while you, my spiritual father who leads one of the largest youthful congregations said that “PLU is not known to be an abusive and subversive party,” broke my heart even more. Papa, you know that the young people in your church are informed and intelligent. They have phones. They see the videos of abductions involving men in military uniforms acting under the authority of the very people you were praising. Papa, you teach us to let God fight our battles. Yet at that same meeting, you raised the issue of Gashumba’s statements about our church before PLU leaders in a manner that sounded like you were asking them to take action against him. Papa, you have hurt thousands of young people, including those who may never have the courage to write a post like this. We forgive you. We will still come to church, sit in our usual seats, worship God and listen to your sermons. But Papa, forgiveness does not mean we were not hurt. And remaining in church does not mean we agree with everything you said. @Phanerookampala

There's no group of people I loathe like men who think they're the sole custodians of knowledge. So quick to dismiss and invalidate everyone else's opinions simply because they think they know it all.
