May you never know the fear of having your human rights challenged every time there is an election, and may you never know the pain of watching loved ones vote against your right to exist fully, equally, and authentically. 🏳️🌈

Abortion rights.
The right to contraception.
The right to marry the person you love.
These and more are at risk in these midterm elections.

R is for Rainbow! 🌈 Rainbow flags have been waving in honor of the LGBTQIA+ community since 1978. These symbols continue to evolve and take new forms, like the 2018 Progress Pride Flag by Daniel Quasar. Together, let's learn what each of these colors represent! #PrideMonth

It takes a monster to kill children. But to watch monsters kill children again and again and do nothing isn’t just insanity—it’s inhumanity.

These are elementary school children who woke up this morning. Who ate their favorite cereal. Who tied their shoes in double knots. Who laughed with friends on the bus. Now more than a dozen are dead. This isn’t normal. It doesn’t have to be this way. It can’t keep being this way
It has to stop. Sending love to all those senselessly hurt or killed in Buffalo and their loved ones.
Today, people buying groceries in a predominantly Black #Buffalo community were shot by a White man who believes the hate-filled propaganda that there’s a movement to replace White people.
White Supremacist Ideology + Hate + Irresponsible Fear Mongering + Guns = 10 people dead.

Would you help me tweet this around the world?
Kindness matters
But kindness does not = justice
Civility counts
But civility is not the humane response to injustice
Justice is
Love is essential
But love is not a passive, weeping bystander
Love puts in work.

Acceptance shouldn't have to be something that is asked for; it should be in everyone's heart from day one & continued throughout every day because, in the end, we are all human regardless of the things we have going on. -Kate Saldana

1/ Stick with this thread to the end.
Friday in Hartford a young woman named Solmary Cruz nervously handed me a slip of paper with a neatly written list of changes she wants.
"You promise you're going to read it?" she asked in a weak but purposeful voice.

The rate of violence and murders of transgender Americans is on the rise. Today, on Transgender Day of Visibility, let's not only lift up our trans neighbors, but honor those we've lost.
