I don't think I want much from life anymore. Maybe I have just reached a point where the things I once thought would make me happy don't mean much to me anymore. I don't dream about being rich, famous or having a life that looks impressive from the outside. I just want to earn enough to disappear somewhere into the mountains and build a small life of my own. A little house where there will be alot of trees, some animals and enough land to keep my hands busy and my mind at peace. I want to wake up in the morning without an alarm telling me where I need to be. I want my biggest concern to be whether the plants need water, whether it's going to rain or what I'm going to cook that evening. I want to grow my own food, work with my hands, watch things slowly grow and have days without any EMIs ache. I don't want to spend my entire life chasing things just because everyone else is chasing them. I want to sit outside my little house when the sun is going down, look at the mountains, feel the cold air and genuinely think this is enough. Maybe I will have less money than I could have made in the city. Maybe I will have fewer people around me. Maybe some days will be difficult and lonely. But at least the life will be mine. And when I'm old, I want to look back and know that I did not spend my only life trying to become someone I never wanted to be. I know death is no't beautiful and is not something to romanticize. But if I have managed to build that kind of life, surrounded by the land I cared for and the place I chose to call home, then maybe I won't be afraid of the end. Not because death itself is beautiful, but because I would have no regrets about the life that came before it. Honestly, if I ever manage to build this life, I think I will love it more than anything I could have found in the world I left behind.
