you'd think the @Revolut comms team would be showing us a masterclass today. one post hours ago is wild behaviour
Was today a near miss?
Some business owners may not even know where their website is hosted, and for the most part, it doesn't necessarily matter. But do you know what happens if something goes wrong? Do you know what that costs?
Ask Revolut, now a major international 'digital first' bank, which is being battered across social media because an outage in europe-west2 (where? - London, since you ask) brought down its business.
Luckily, CrimeLine's server, also in that region, was not impacted. But what if it had been? What would you have noticed today?
Well, I can tell you. Our site would have gone down for approximately 9 minutes. During that time, a failover system would have kicked in automatically and brought the site live in another data centre.
Make no mistake, failover is an incredibly expensive insurance policy, but one customers should demand.
