Romain Toutain revealed more about Mass Effect 5/Universe (this one really stings):
✨"The Shepard" was customizable and could do same moves in real combat as trailer
✨Everything in game was "stateful"
✨All choices from 1-3 taken into account
✨Called Universe so you could plug your saves together to create parallel universes (simplified explanation) but you could almost generate timelines similar to Zero Time
✨You could make decisions that might contradict things you've already done and so it would create plot "points" in the timeline
✨Missions didn't fail because you killed someone, paths would remain open (it worked well)
✨Absolute autonomy was the cornerstone of the game
✨No two players would experience the same thing, would have "experienced the same story but differently"
✨"EA never sells anything. they just shut things down and sit on their licenses"
✨Barman was a new race
✨Lore was incredible around new mass relays
✨"Billy" the hand thing might have generated tentacles
✨Was an idea for sharing your saves
✨He says it was fucking amazing
it was an absolute banger and we would have loved it. The people at BioWare were brilliant
FUCK

At our very first TGA, Bioware took home Game of the Year for Dragon Age: Inquisition. Mark Darrah and Aaryn Flynn accepted the award LIVE on-stage in Las Vegas.

I can finally talk about Mass Effect Universe.
Since Bioware closed I can now reveal that I was part of the Mass Effect Council, saw what BioWare was building, and provided feedback during development.
• Set 600+ years after the Reaper War
• You play as a customizable N7 agent
• Instead of being a walking gun rack, you're a cross between John Wick and James Bond
• Shepard's legacy preserved, regardless of your ending
• A galaxy divided into three major factions
• Humanity, Krogan, Batarians, and more allied together
• Council races forming their own alliance
• The Geth emerging as a third superpower
• A galactic Cold War instead of another Reaper style invasion with a shadowy adversary
• Geth-built megastructures
• Connections between the Milky Way and Andromeda
• Experimental technology implanted in you as a unique point of difference
• Hacking and manipulating the environment
• See through walls, identify systems, remotely trigger hazards and more
• Handcrafted missions like ME1-3
• But with Hitman-style freedom in how you complete them
• Brutal close-range executions
• Squadmates who can clash with each other
• Romance wasn't being sanitised
• Liara returns - now an incredibly powerful Asari Matriarch
From what I saw, BioWare was making Mass Effect for us, the fans, not for people who don't exist.
It looked incredible.
And now we may never get to play it.

The most depressing thing about the Mass Effect news, to me, is that Mass Effect at its core was a very optimistic story. It was a story about diplomacy, about coalition building, and setting aside differences.
Now, that feels completely fucking impossible.
This trailer is pretty much done. I have a feeling it was either meant for N7 day or Game Awards in December. It infuriates me to no end that we were actually so, so close.

A BioWare dev on reddit leaked a Mass Effect 5 trailer... it's called MASS EFFECT UNIVERSE and it's fucking gorgeous. I'm crying. This is everything I wanted. They were a lot farther than we thought. FUCK EA
Bioware, namely Mass Effect, is the reason I got into game writing and the industry side of things as a whole. I'd be somewhere entirely different today if it weren't for them.
My heart goes out to the devs and my fuck yous go out to EA.
The bots naturally found this post, free block list in the comments below 🖤 Rage bait used to be believable (and used to come from real people with at least half a braincell)
RJ Mitte, who played Walter White Jr. on “Breaking Bad,” has died. He was 34.
• A cause of death was not immediately disclosed by his representatives.
• Like his “Breaking Bad” character Walt Jr., Mitte had cerebral palsy. Throughout his acting career, he was an advocate for disability representation in Hollywood.

Making games to sell merch is out. Making games to be turned into movie adaptations is in
Never asking this man to write something down for me again @IAm8BitRyan
Recently got to visit the places that served as inspiration for @_ScreenBurn's Silent Hill: Townfall. Of course I had to get some comparison shots.
Picking a GOTY is gonna be hard for me this year between Requiem and The Blood Of Dawnwalker 🥲 I'm so hooked
