Korean protesters shout & cheer outside National Assembly in Seoul right now as coup d'etat fails and security services are forced to leave the building. This is how we do it comrades. The workers united will never be defeated.

Hey @JoPhoenix1 and @jk_rowling since you’re chatting about my book, here’s the cover of the Mandarin translation from their book launch flyer. Great isn’t it.

The only acceptable response to finding out hospital acquired Covid is 10% fatal is “why aren’t we doing more to protect patients.” If your response is “they were going to die anyways” you need to check your ableism Patients go to hospital to get well & we are failing them.

Just incredibly bleak that when a Labour government is finally in power, disabled people still have to wake up to front pages calling them a blight on society.

“I have never understood why, when everyone on the planet is one accident or medical condition away from disability, many people seem to lack any empathy and do not attempt to understand how it must feel to be refused service because of a disability.” buff.ly/3CIE6xr

There are many things that raise alarm bells here, but trade union victimisation by a trade union employer is more screwed up than I could have imagined possible. NEC needs to pull its finger out and end this mess. If NEC won’t, branches must.
🚨Employer ignores dispute to rush restructure🚨 Instead of focusing on resolving our long-standing dispute over a racist, dysfunctional & toxic workplace, our employer yesterday announced a significant restructure that will impact nearly a quarter of staff, some significantly.

Also: why doesn't anyone who talks about their "tough decisions" ever show an ounce of sympathy for the people they're leaving to suffer? They're always either smirking at their own cleverness, or fuming that anyone would dare ask them to justify the pain they're inflicting.
Again - are these really the tough decisions if every government in my lifetime has said the same crap to justify underfunding the health service while giving insane tax breaks to the super rich.

Weird listening to @wesstreeting refusing to say he would provide extra funding for hospices for dying children today and defending labour's "tough decisions". All whilst reintroducing a failed new labour hospital league tables policy - did you learn nothing from Ofsted?

It seems that the US election has shown more GCs the degrees to which their movement is aligned with the right and far-right. This appears to be a shock. The response is to separate ‘original’ or ‘real’ GCs from the right wing. This really doesn’t work.

Any such "debate" would be beyond tone-deaf. For over a year we have been forced to watch an unfolding genocide. "Debating" who is most to blame for that is ridiculous and offensive.
The Durham Union are, once again, hosting a ‘debate' over the genocide in Palestine. Please join us tomorrow evening outside the Pemberton rooms as we rally against this farce ‘debate’.

The world's only superpower is now openly a fascist state. Time to go to work and have to pretend everything is normal.

(He says, as if the entire last year hasn't been about having to do that in the shadow of a genocide my government is proudly abetting.)
