He has been in prison since January 2, 2026, serving 4 years for writing code. Keonne Rodriguez co-built the same wallet, software that never touched a user's money. He is serving 5 years, the statutory max. Asked in December, Trump said, "I've heard about it, I'll look at it." Nothing since. Roman Storm co-built Tornado Cash, open source code that mixes crypto for privacy. He never held a user's funds and could not stop a transaction, yet faces up to 40 more years at a retrial now set for April 2027. Roman Sterlingov says he was a Bitcoin Fog user, not the operator. He got 12.5 years and a $395 million forfeiture built on unverified black box software, no source code, no server logs, no evidence he ran anything. Roger Ver renounced his US citizenship in 2014. The government chased $240 million in bitcoin he owned at renunciation, jailed him 337 days in Spain, and settled for $50 million and a gag order. He is not free. He is owed a pardon. Ray Youssef built Paxful to serve people banks would not touch across Africa and the Global South. Deported from Mexico to LAX in an extradition his lawyers say skipped due process, he is fighting this alone. Most pardons go to people who did the crime, served the time, and learned the lesson. These seven did not commit a crime. They should be celebrated, not forgiven. Trump already proved he understands this. He pardoned Ross Ulbricht in January 2025 after 11 years served. Do the same for these seven, now. It is the DOJ's one chance to stop looking like a tyrant.
