Google has introduced Google Multi-Party Compute (MPC), a security system designed to help banks safely store and transfer cryptocurrencies and tokenized assets. The technology splits cryptographic keys across multiple systems, so no single system holds the complete key. It also checks transactions against predefined rules to help prevent unauthorized transfers. The product is currently in private preview, with several financial institutions testing it. Google plans a wider commercial launch in early 2027, as traditional finance explores secure ways to handle digital assets.

Russian IT specialist Yury Belenky has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for allegedly financing terrorism after donating more than $700 to Ukrainian fundraising campaigns. According to Reuters, Binance provided Russian investigators with his transaction history in response to a government request. The records reportedly became key evidence in the case. Some donations went to Ukraine’s Azov Brigade. Belenky denied the charges. Rights advocates warn that crypto transaction records can expose donors to serious legal risks. Binance says it does not decide how governments use information in legal proceedings.

Binance has applied to Brazil’s Central Bank for a crypto service provider license through its local entity, BBrasil, ahead of the October 30 deadline. As part of the regulatory changes, Binance is delisting 22 tokens for Brazilian users. Notable names include USDe (USDE), TerraClassicUSD (USTC), MANTRA (MANTRA), GMT and Zilliqa (ZIL). The exchange is also restricting eight services, including Loans, Margin, Binance Pool and Launchpool. The application aims to keep Binance operating in Brazil, but filing does not guarantee approval.

Janus Henderson has launched JQQQ, described as the first licensed tokenized Nasdaq-100 fund, on the Stellar blockchain using Centrifuge. The launch brings traditional market exposure onto blockchain infrastructure, combining a familiar investment strategy with tokenization technology. The move highlights how established asset managers are exploring tokenized funds to connect traditional finance with onchain markets. However, tokenization does not remove the investment risks associated with the underlying assets.

Coinbase Institutional co-CEO Brett Tejpaul says seven of the world’s largest banks now use Coinbase infrastructure. He described traditional banks as facing a “Kodak moment” as stablecoin payments rise, warning that established financial players risk falling behind as money moves toward blockchain-based rails. The comments highlight how stablecoins are pushing traditional finance to rethink payments and digital asset infrastructure. Even major banks are increasingly exploring the technology behind crypto.

IBM, Oracle, Intel and IonQ have reportedly objected to OKX/ICE tokenizing their shares under the SEC’s innovation exemption, according to Eleanor Terrett. Their objections bring the total number of companies opposing the proposal to 26 issuers, highlighting growing resistance from companies whose shares could be offered through tokenized products. The dispute raises bigger questions about how tokenized stocks should be structured, who controls them, and how existing shareholder rights and securities rules apply.

CoinDCX has confirmed a $15.99 million loss involving old wallets it had reportedly retired after last year’s hack. The disclosure raises fresh questions about the security of wallets believed to be inactive and whether any exposure remained after the original incident. CoinDCX had previously said recent wallet activity was linked to the 2025 breach, not a new attack on its exchange. The latest confirmation puts the reported loss back in focus

UK consumers submitted 10,092 complaints in just 90 days over banking restrictions on crypto purchases, according to advocacy group Stand With Crypto. The complaints came from 9,800 individuals across all 650 parliamentary constituencies. Lloyds Banking Group received the most complaints at 2,297, followed by Barclays with 1,569 and NatWest Group with 1,278. Some banks impose transaction limits, while others reportedly block crypto transfers altogether. The findings raise questions about the UK's ambition to become a global crypto hub while customers face difficulties funding exchange accounts. However, the figures come from a voluntary complaint tool, not a representative survey, and do not measure complaint rates across each bank's customer base.

A Chinese national has reportedly been extradited from the Netherlands to Los Angeles over an alleged scam operation linked to a Cambodian compound. Investigators say the operation used fake crypto trading websites to target 174 Americans. The case highlights the ongoing threat of crypto investment fraud, where scammers use fake trading platforms to trick victims into sending funds while making their investments appear legitimate. Malaysia will reportedly retain 322 Bitcoin worth around $27 million seized in connection with the Bitkingdom scam case dating back to 2015–2016. A court has ordered the return of just 176 BTC to nine victims, while the remaining Bitcoin will stay with the Malaysian authorities, according to the report. The case highlights the challenges of recovering crypto assets after alleged fraud, especially when authorities seize funds years after the original incidents. The final outcome leaves a significant portion of the seized Bitcoin outside the victims’ recovery.

The central banks of Malaysia and Thailand have joined Singapore’s BLOOM initiative, which explores the use of stablecoins and tokenized bank deposits for cross-border payments. The initiative aims to make international transactions more efficient by using digital forms of money and blockchain-based infrastructure, potentially reducing friction in cross-border settlements. The move highlights growing interest among Southeast Asian central banks in exploring digital payment systems. Rather than relying only on traditional banking rails, the region is testing how tokenized money could support faster and more connected financial services

At least $369,300 in suspected wallet-drain activity has been flagged by Onchain Lens. The suspected attacker wallet reportedly moved funds to HitBTC and other addresses and received funds from an address linked to the CryptoBillis Ledger Drainer. However, no direct connection to the Railway breach has been confirmed. Railway is a cloud platform that helps developers build, deploy and host applications. The company said an unauthorized third party may have accessed encrypted environment variables and decrypted some of their contents, potentially exposing API keys, database credentials and other sensitive information. Railway has paused deployments while investigating. Railway is urging users to immediately rotate environment-variable secrets, API keys and registry credentials to reduce the risk of further exposure. Users should also review access logs and revoke potentially compromised credentials.
