VRT's fact checker Rien Emmery, underlined what @MickWest's Metabunk and I had said, that the Brussels Airport drone was no such thing, it was a police helicopter. #WhereAreTheDrones

Reposting to correct... The taking down of a civilian drone occurred in Norway but by the German Navy. It's funny how there's hype when drones are claimed but near silence when there are mistakes and collateral damage! dronemag.no/forsvaret-sivil-…

I take it that 90% cock-up evaluation is your experience from knowing about the Gatwick "drone" incident from your time at the DfT?

It must also evolve in the right way, with transparency, without fear mongering & self interests that are just looking to feather their nests with the DfT's money. It would be good to see the DfT be transparent about Gatwick, otherwise they will end up being in cases with the ICO & potentially in court via the First-tier Tribunal in 2024 & 2025. 2 cases against Sussex Police have already be fought & won this year related to failure to comply with Freedom of Information. The Home Office need to stop manipulating the DfT & CAA to justify spend with false narratives as they want to keep spending on kit & systems that provide little value based on fear alone.
