You’re going to have some emotionally wobbly children this week. You’ve been their constant for the past year. Most of their waking hours during the week have been in your class with you guiding them, teaching them, helping them. That’s all going soon.Keep an extra eye out this week.

Sharing a story is a great way to have a moment of closeness and connection, which can be really important for children in kinship care. We've put together booklists to support conversations about emotions and families - find them here: booktrust.org.uk/how-we-help… @kinshipcharity

Y6 teachers/SLT When SATs results become available, download your pupils' papers from the portal - they make for a very useful tool in explaining how to/how not to answer questions - especially for the 3 markers on the reading paper.

Hello! 👋 Are there any wonderful children’s authors who would talk to my reading for pleasure group of primary teachers on Thursday between 4-5pm? I am so lucky to lead this group of teachers wanting to bring reading to life in the classroom! Thank you so much! @OpenUni_RfP

If you’re struggling for ideas for World Book Day tomorrow, just read to the children. You can’t do much better than that.

We’ve really enjoyed planning lessons for The Final Year. We think as many children as possible should be able to get their hands on it. So, we’re giving away a class set! Simply like this post, repost it and follow Literacy Shed on X. We’ll draw a winner at random on 13/2/24

Teachers. If you need a Christmas resource for a lesson over the coming weeks, these may be handy. Lots of festive puzzles and some quizzes too. None are mine but gathered over the years. Hope you find them useful 🎅🎄drive.google.com/drive/folde…

A tip for pupils sitting the arithmetic paper is to get them to circle the operation in each question. I find it helps to eliminate errors where they simply perform the wrong calculation (eg add instead of subtract).
