I picked up a 300+ cart lot like a month ago. These are all the ones I'm most excited about fixing 😁

They're honestly so fun to collect. I have another 30 or so I still need to clean/fix up.

Honestly, forget anyone calling it slop or belittling you for exploring a new thing. Doesn't mean you're going to release a slop game. Plenty of real devs and modders are born from exploring with tech that lowers the initial barrier to entry.

Consider a scenario where a dev uses AI to create custom tailored tools that fit that devs workflow to be more efficient, but still hand maps and uses real human made art. Does that make it bad because of tooling not in the game?

I feel different about AI when it comes to art, where the stolen comment feels a lot more valid. Code has just never felt like this artistic "stolen" thing when a lot of coders used stackoverflow back in the day. If heart and care is there, AI can be used for good things.

Nah, after coding for 25 years I fail to see how using a tool to help people explore their creativity is a bad thing. Is it good to understand your code? Sure. But people blindly hate just because others are saying its bad.

Also, feel free to reach out if you ever hit any snags depending on what you're doing. Been cooking a lot of things for the last couple of months so theres a good chance I've solved problems you may come across.

It's likely I may need to lean into SD for achievements on Chromatic but not 100% sure yet. Would suggest soldering one either way if you ever want to experiment with taking Chromatic further or doing SD card game loading.

Glad you got it working out! Takes just one leg not making close enough contact, really.

Correct, but the footprint is there which is a 45 second soldering job if you're experienced.

I would also reflow the soldering job a bit. At a glance, it looks like its enough to keep the socket in place, but I would be a touch more liberal with the solder to ensure the pad and legs are fully bonding.
