Gender is like belief in a soul. Fine for those with faith. But utterly irrelevant to everyone else and absolutely not the basis on which society or its laws should be organised.
I am not gender critical. I am a gender atheist.

As our wonderful friend @Phyllischesler has replied,
“The UK based resistancce movement known as Feminists Against Antisemitism have just posted one of the very best comments about French PM Macron’s idiocy in terms of what he said about the ongoing riots.”

“Thinking before speaking is good advice and followed less often than it should be, especially by politicians, despite all the media training they receive. The first instant reaction – to a question or event – can be the most revealing of a person’s biases, about what they really think, about what they fear most. So it was with President Emmanuel Macron in his first statement following the attack in Trappes.”

I was given this by a local poet that I know well. A good man who quietly gets it. He had read a post by @tammydiamonds and contemplated all that has happened in recent years and how people have treated the Jews and Israel.
I honestly am blown away that he said so much in a short poem, he captured the essence of this horrible time. An absolute work of art.
Never forget that you are seen, even when people don’t say it out loud.

The whole article is worth reading.
"We have a state which...has forgotten what public service is meant to be, which treats those it is meant to serve with indifference, contempt and dismissiveness."

Worse was to follow.
The families were treated with indifference and callousness, which mirrored the indifference and contempt they were shown before the tragedy by the National Coal Board when they warned of the slag tips' instability and begged for their removal.
6/7
This was not a one-off. What happened at Aberfan and to the families - denial, contempt for their concerns, delay & indifference (see Nottingham) - is what has happened and is still happening to the victims of countless other scandals in our public institutions.
7/7
This is not just a mistake or incompetence or a lack of resources. This is the state's modus operandi. This is how the British state treats those it harms. It is an abusive state.
Too harsh a judgment?
Read this - politicalbetting.com/index.p… - and tell me why I am wrong.
1/7
Tomorrow is the 60th anniversary of Aberfan when 116 children & 28 adults were buried alive under a slag heap which collapsed on the primary school.
The miners did not spend that day underground digging out coal but above ground digging their dead children out of slurry.

We have now written an open letter to the Bridget Phillipson regarding the misinformation that appeared in her article on the conversion practices bill this weekend.
This level of nonsense in public debates is getting ridiculous and it is time she and her officials sorted it.
1/ We’ve written to the Secretary of State for Equalities concerning misinformation that appeared in an article she wrote over the weekend. It’s important that the debate around the draft conversion bill is accurate and the Minister should promote this.

If immigrant women had been attacked, the media would immediately ask whether anti-immigration marches and rhetoric had helped create the climate in which it happened.
But when Jewish women are attacked, there is remarkably little interest in the climate created by years of Antizionist marches and relentless anti-Jewish rhetoric online and on our streets.
The BBC even asks anyone who “believes they may have been assaulted” to come forward. Jewish women are doubted twice over: as women who report an assault, and as Jews who say they are being targeted by a hate movement.
But there is a real hate movement against Jews, and the media refuses to name it.
The double standard is blatant.

Here is another clear example of the draft Bill and Bridget’s understanding of it being oceans apart.
It is vital that Peers, MPs and the public urgently get up to speed on the detail of this draft Bill and get beyond the warm, politically soothing words of Ministers.

1/ This article by the Equalities Minister Bridget Phillipson is downright misleading. What is said about the law is unreliable, it confuses civil statutes for criminal ones and it completely ignores the principles of statutory constructions in crime. I explain why here:
Look at Bridget Phillipson's language here: a bill that 'allows people to be their true selves', to 'live openly and safely as themselves', that criminalises someone who tries to 'change who someone is'.
The Conversion Practices bill applies in the case of a child who says they're the opposite sex. Think about that.
Apply Phillipson's thinking to the parent of a four year-old boy who says 'mummy, I'm really a girl'.
Or to the parent of a teenage girl who is screaming 'I'm not your daughter I'm your son, you bigot!'
By trying to present the bill as completely reasonable 'common sense measures' Phillipson has only succeeded in exposing its ideological basis. Her language is pure trans activism.
