That means I identified the eventual winner in nearly 9 out of every 10 races! 📉 The percentage of races where the winner wasn’t included fell from 15.24% to 13.56%. Overall, I made fewer predictions but achieved better results, with more 5-star picks and fewer races where I failed to name the winner. There’s still room for improvement, but the numbers show positive progress compared with 2025. Most importantly, this reflects the work, time and commitment invested throughout the season. Thank you to everyone who followed my predictions in 2026! ❤️ Here’s to an even better 2027! 🙌 #Cycling #CyclingPredictions

If, at the start of the 2026 season, I had told you that: Enric Mas would win the Vuelta Primož Roglič would become European time trial champion Brandon McNulty would be the road World champion. Afonso Eulálio would win the Giro’s Best Young Rider classification and finish in the top 10 overall Lorena Wiebes would be disqualified from the Giro for having a bike that was 20 grams under the minimum weight. Dorian Godon will be the second Netcompany INEOS rider with the most UCI points. Tobias Svarre will beat Antonio Tiberi and Tim Wellens in a Pro stage race Picnic’s best rider will be Frits Biesterbos You were going to call me crazy, right?

🏆 Best Domestique of the 2026 Season For me, there are plenty of candidates for this award, but my winner is Gregor Mühlberger! 🇦🇹 Mühlberger had been quiet during his last two seasons at Movistar, but he returned to an excellent level with Decathlon specially at the Giro d'Italia. Much of Felix Gall's success this season was also down to the outstanding support he received from Mühlberger, and that partnership will continue as both riders head to Lidl-Trek. His work at the Giro was simply incredible. In my opinion, Mühlberger was the best domestique supporting a rider competing at the top of the general classification. He was also doing an excellent job at the Vuelta a España before unfortunately having to abandon. There are, of course, plenty of other riders who deserve recognition. Jasper Stuyven 🇧🇪 was fundamental to Paul Magnier success at the Giro d'Italia. He did an excellent job setting up his teammate for sprint victories. He also worked well for Tim Merlier at the Tour de France, although his contribution wasn't quite as decisive as it had been at the Giro. Matteo Jorgenson 🇺🇸 deserves a mention for the support he provided to Brandon McNulty in his successful World Championships campaign. Tadej Pogačar 🇸🇮 deserves recognition too. We shouldn't forget the support he provided to Isaac del Toro at the Tour de France. Even the biggest star can play a crucial domestique role (mostly because his GC was more than secured). Sepp Kuss 🇺🇸 is another familiar name on this list. He's been one of the best domestiques in the peloton for years, and 2026 was another reminder of his value to his team. Iván Romeo 🇪🇸 also deserves credit for the support he gave Enric Mas at the Vuelta a España. He proved to be an excellent teammate when it mattered most. Finally, Juan Rodríguez 🇨🇴 was a pleasant surprise, showing that he can be a very effective teammate and work well alongside riders such as RichardCarapaz. Who was your best domestique of 2026? 👀

🏆 Best Veteran of the 2026 Season: Primož Roglič 🇸🇮 For me, there can only be one winner here: Primož Roglič! At 36, Roglič may no longer be the rider he was at his peak, but his end to the 2026 season was genuinely impressive. He finished second overall at the Vuelta a España, proving that he can still compete at the highest level. Even if Tadej Pogačar didn’t abandon the race, Roglič would have finished third, ahead of established names such as Felix Gall, Richard Carapaz, Sepp Kuss and Oscar Onley. That alone shows that Roglič still has plenty of quality and remains a strong contender in major stage races. He then went on to become European time trial champion. It's fair to acknowledge that Remco Evenepoel was absent, and that the course suited Roglič's characteristics. Nevertheless, he still had to deliver the performance, and he did exactly that. He may not be at his absolute peak anymore, but Roglič has proved that he still has what it takes to compete and win at the highest level. For me, he's the clear choice as the best veteran of the 2026 season. 👏

My five best signings of the 2026 cycling season! 🚴‍♂️ 1. Remco Evenepoel 🇧🇪 – Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe Remco Evenepoel was signed to lead Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe, and he certainly lived up to expectations. He delivered a very strong season, finishing second at the Tour de France and winning two stages. He also enjoyed a good Classics campaign, including a surprise third-place finish at the Ronde van Vlaanderen. On top of that, he became world champion in the individual time trial and European road race champion, alongside several other strong results throughout the season. Overall, it was a very positive campaign for Remco and an excellent signing by Red Bull. 2. David Piganzoli 🇮🇹 – Team Visma | Lease a Bike Piganzoli was a surprising signing for Visma, but one that turned out exceptionally well. In his first WorldTour season, he delivered a very strong Giro d'Italia and remained competitive throughout the year. He showed that he has the potential to become a very good stage-race rider, with the ability to perform over three weeks. He's still young, and Visma now has an exciting talent to develop into a potentially dangerous Grand Tour contender in the future. Considering his performances and long-term potential, this looks like a very smart signing. 3. Olav Kooij 🇳🇱 – Decathlon CMA CGM Team Olav Kooij is another signing that deserves plenty of credit. He started his season a little later than expected due to physical problems, but the wait was worth it. He didn't lose any of his speed. Quite the opposite: he delivered stage wins, including a victory at the Tour de France. Kooij remains one of the best sprinters in the world, and I believe he'll continue to deliver plenty of victories and valuable points for Decathlon in the years ahead. 4. Dorian Godon 🇫🇷 – Netcompany INEOS Dorian Godon was a somewhat surprising signing for INEOS, but he ended up being one of their best acquisitions of the season. He performed extremely well throughout the year, delivering several stage victories and valuable results for the team. While the Tour de France didn't go according to plan for him, his performances in almost every other race were impressive. Godon proved to be a very effective signing, bringing victories and consistency to the team. 5. Guillermo Thomas Silva 🇺🇾 – XDS Astana Team Guillermo Thomas Silva was a real revelation in 2026. Having arrived from Caja Rural, a team competing at ProTeam level, he made an impressive step up and proved that he could compete at a much higher level. He also scored plenty of valuable points for Astana throughout the season. The Giro d'Italia was undoubtedly one of the highlights of his year. He won a stage and even spent a day in the race leader's jersey, making a significant impact on one of cycling's biggest races. But Silva's season wasn't just about the Giro. He also produced several excellent performances elsewhere, won the Arctic Race of Norway and claimed a title at the South American Games. Perhaps he fell a little short in some of the biggest one-day races, but that doesn't take away from what was an outstanding season. He's a very talented rider who delivered important results, earned valuable points for Astana and exceeded expectations. For me, Silva was one of the most impressive signings of the year and a rider with plenty of potential for the future. Who do you think was the best signing of the 2026 season? 👀

During the offseason I always try to feature cyclists who haven’t yet managed to find a team for the upcoming season, in an effort to help them as much as i can. Fortunately, this page has grown from season to season and has reached an ever-wider audience. Do you have any suggestions for cyclists who are still without a contract that I should mention? #Cycling

My five signings who failed to live up to expectations in the 2026 cycling season. 1. Juan Ayuso Juan Ayuso was signed by Lidl-Trek to deliver big results, with a podium at the Tour de France among the main objectives. He was expected to become the team's leading rider for its toughest stage races. There were some encouraging performances early in the season, including his victory at the Volta ao Algarve. However, injuries and physical problems disrupted his campaign. He still managed a third-place finish at the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes which offered some hope ahead of the Tour de France. Unfortunately, he finished seventh overall at the Tour, behind his own teammate Mattias Skjelmose, who was already part of Lidl-Trek. The expectation was that Ayuso would deliver the result Skjelmose had yet to achieve, but instead he finished behind him. His results during the remainder of the season were also disappointing, making him one of the biggest letdowns of 2026. 2. Alberto Dainese I've already spoken about Dainese, but he deserves again a place on this list. He arrived at Soudal Quick-Step with the ability to deliver strong results in bunch sprints, where he had previously shown himself to be a capable finisher. However, he never really came close to winning a sprint stage, and his season fell well short of expectations. Even with a race programme that offered several opportunities to achieve good results and potentially pick up victories, he consistently underperformed. 3. Dylan van Baarle Another rider who joined Soudal Quick-Step with the objective of strengthening their Classics squad was Dylan van Baarle, arriving from Visma. He was active in some of the major Classics, but his results never came close to what the team would have hoped for. His best result was 30th at the Ronde Van Vlaanderen, which is simply not enough for a rider who has previously been one of the strongest contenders in the Classics. 4. Attila Valter Valter moved from Visma to Bahrain Victorious with the prospect of enjoying more freedom and greater opportunities to pursue his own results. He's a rider who has delivered some excellent performances in the past, so there was reason to believe that a change of team could help him rediscover his best form. Instead, he was almost completely invisible throughout the 2026 season. A very disappointing campaign for a rider who had the potential to achieve much more. 5. Pavel Novák Novák is a talented young rider who arrived with plenty of promise after finishing third at the Giro Next Gen last year. We saw several riders who had impressed at under-23 level in 2025 take significant steps forward this season. Unfortunately, Novák wasn't one of them. He barely made an impact and failed to deliver any particularly notable results. Given his talent and the expectations surrounding him, 2026 was a disappointing season. These are my five signings who failed to meet expectations in 2026. Some were expected to deliver major results, while others were promising talents who struggled to make the step up. Either way, they all finished the season with plenty of questions to answer. Who would make your list? 👀 #Cycling

My five biggest breakthrough riders of the 2026 cycling season! 🚴‍♂️ 1. Paul Seixas 🇫🇷 What more can you say about Paul Seixas? He won a Monument, becoming the youngest rider ever to win Il Lombardia and the fourth-youngest rider ever to win a Monument. His season was outstanding from start to finish. He made a very strong start to the year and even managed to follow Tadej Pogačar for part of Liège–Bastogne–Liège. He then delivered an excellent Tour de France, finishing fourth in his first-ever Grand Tour, despite arriving without ideal preparation after a crash at the Critérium du Dauphiné. If anyone still had doubts that Seixas could become one of the riders shaping the future of international cycling, those doubts should now be gone. His potential is extraordinary. 2. Davide Piganzoli 🇮🇹 Visma's signing of Davide Piganzoli was somewhat surprising, but he adapted extremely well to his new team. He delivered a strong Giro d'Italia, even if he narrowly missed out on the youth classification, finishing 8th GC. He also picked up some impressive victories, including the Route d'Occitanie, the Tour de Luxembourg and, more recently, the Giro dell'Emilia. He's a well-rounded rider who can perform over three weeks and is no slouch against the clock either. His development since moving from Polti to Visma has been impressive, especially in his first WorldTour season. He's definitely a rider to watch in the coming years. 3. Jarno Widar 🇧🇪 Jarno Widar is another young talent who announced himself at a high level this season. His campaign was somewhat inconsistent at times, with periods when he was very visible followed by quieter spells. However, he finished the season strongly and showed why he's considered such an exciting prospect. I believe Widar has the potential to become a major force in the Ardennes Classics. He's still developing, and I expect we'll hear a lot more about him in the years to come. 4. Afonso Eulálio 🇵🇹 Finally, Afonso Eulálio deserves his place on this list after an incredible Giro d'Italia. He won the young rider classification and finished inside the overall top 10, an outstanding achievement for a rider with so much of his career still ahead of him. The rest of his season wasn't quite as successful, but I wouldn't read too much into that. He's still developing, has plenty of potential and for sure this won't be the last time we see him with the best. 5. Noah Hobbs 🇬🇧 EF's sprinter Noah Hobbs was clearly one of the biggest revelations of the season when it comes to pure speed. He made the step up to EF's senior squad and adapted extremely well. Sprinting hasn't traditionally been one of EF's biggest strengths, but Hobbs proved that he can be a valuable weapon for the team. He's still young, and I believe he has everything needed to remain a competitive sprinter in the international peloton for many years. Who would make your list? 👀 #Cycling

And that’s another season of the best cycling fantasy game in the world, @AppCycling , coming to an end! If we add up the points from all the rankings, I ended up being the second-highest-scoring player. In total, we had about 24,000 players; however, not all of them played in every category or competed in every event. Across my five full seasons playing Cycling Fantasy, I’ve managed to finish in the top 10 of at least one classification in four of them. This year, it was the Pro Men classification, where I finished 9th! A solid result, although it leaves me slightly frustrated. Until early October, I was fighting for a podium finish and sitting in 3rd place, but a difficult final stretch cost me several positions. Overall, it was a decent season, with top-50 finishes in every classification, but I’ve definitely done better in the past. I made some costly mistakes, especially towards the end of the season, which hurt my rankings across the board. 🌍 Men's WorldTour: My biggest regret was the Tour de France, where things went terribly wrong. I also regret not picking Frits Biesterbos for the Tour of Guangxi, which could have helped me secure an even better finish. 🌍 Women's WorldTour: A season to forget! Lotte Kopecky felt like she was playing against me personally. Whenever I left her out, she delivered a huge result; whenever I picked her, she disappointed me. 😂 🚴‍♂️ Pro Men: 9th place! A good result, even if I can't help wondering what might have been after being in 3rd for so long. 🚴‍♀️ Pro Women: 14th place, my best-ever result in this classification! I was close to the top 10, and that's now the target for next season. All in all, a good season, but one that leaves me hungry for more. The goal for 2027 is clear: learn from the mistakes and make better decisions. Who else played Cycling Fantasy this season? How did you do? #CyclingFantasy

"UAE Team Emirates-XRG also has a very strong line-up. I expect them to do everything possible to give Brandon McNulty a chance to take a major victory in the world champion's jersey. The Diesel Farm climb could be the key: it's long and difficult enough to create significant gaps, and McNulty has the engine to make a difference there." In the end he was easily strong enough to make the decisive difference, amazing performance, we end with a victory of the current World Champion! #VenetoClassic
Veneto Classic🇮🇹 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Anthon Charmig ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Scaroni, McNulty ⭐️⭐️⭐️FChristen, Hirschi, Ulissi ⭐️⭐️Fancellu, Løland, Adriá, Cosnefroy ⭐️Wellens, Berthet, Crescioli, Abrahamsen, Rondel The Veneto Classic brings the 2026 professional cycling season to a close, with the traditional finish in Bassano del Grappa. And what a race we have in store! The parcours features the short but brutal La Tisa climb, 400 metres at 10.8%, tackled six times, with five of those ascents coming on the final circuit. After La Tisa, the riders face the climb of Diesel Farm: 1.2 km at 10.2% on gravel, a tough and potentially decisive section that could completely reshape the race. There's also the Strada Soarda climb, 450 metres at 9.6%, before a flatter run-in on Bassano del Grappa. This is a race with all the ingredients for an exciting and unpredictable finale. The repeated climbs should encourage plenty of attacks, and a breakaway could certainly have a chance of surviving, as we've seen in previous editions. There isn't one overwhelming favourite, and I can see several different scenarios playing out. Uno-X Mobility is particularly interesting here. The team has a strong history in this race, having won with Magnus Cort two years ago and with Sakarias Løland last year. Løland was a surprise winner, having made the breakaway and managed to hold on all the way to the finish. Løland returns this year, although I'm not entirely convinced he can repeat that victory. Uno-X also brings Anton Charmig, who is finishing the season strongly and has the punch to do very well on this parcours. My main concern is the Diesel Farm climb. Although Charmig handles short, steep climbs well, this particular gravel ascent could prove a little too demanding for him. UAE Team Emirates-XRG also has a very strong line-up. I expect them to do everything possible to give Brandon McNulty a chance to take a major victory in the world champion's jersey. The Diesel Farm climb could be the key: it's long and difficult enough to create significant gaps, and McNulty has the engine to make a difference there. The question is whether he'll be strong enough to drop all his rivals. It certainly won't be easy. Benoît Cosnefroy is another interesting contender. The Diesel Farm climb might be a little too hard for him, but if the race comes back together afterwards, he becomes extremely dangerous in a sprint from a reduced group. Tim Wellens is also worth watching. He performed well here last year, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him fighting for the win again if he gets freedom. Other riders to watch Christian Scaroni Astana brings Scaroni, who is finishing the season in excellent form. He suits this kind of demanding, selective parcours and has a decent sprint for a reduced group. He's a very serious candidate for a strong result. Diego Ulissi Ulissi has an excellent record in this race and has been riding well, including at the Giro dell'Abruzzo. This parcours suits his characteristics, and I wouldn't be surprised if he played a major role in the finale. Fabio Christen Christen is another rider finishing the season strongly. He's capable of producing a good performance on this type of terrain and could be a dangerous outsider if he gets the timing of his attack right. Marc Hirschi Why not Hirschi? He's already shown a willingness to race aggressively, and this is exactly the kind of course where he can make a difference with a well-timed attack. He's also a former winner of this race, so he knows what it takes to succeed here. Alessandro Fancellu Fancellu is always a rider worth keeping an eye on in a race like this. The repeated climbs and unpredictable nature of the finale could give him an opportunity to make his mark. Roger Adrià Finally, Roger Adrià of Movistar is another name to consider. He's capable of handling demanding, punchy terrain and could be in the mix if the race comes down to a small group. #VenetoClassic

Honestly, I think Tom Pidcock is going to have nightmares with Jarno Widar during the winter! What a huge win for Jarno Widar, another one to add to the tally! He’s finishing the season in great form and he’s yet another young rider who can already call himself a World Tour stage-race overall winner. #TourofGuangxi
Tour of Guangxi🇨🇳 GC ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Tom Pidcock ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Widar, Vauquelin ⭐️⭐️⭐️Van Gils, Narváez, Bisiaux ⭐️⭐️Barré, Ayuso, Brenner, Eulálio ⭐️Honoré, Svarre, Boichis, Van Wilder, DMartinez Let’s move on to the final men’s WorldTour race of the season: the Tour of Guangxi, which has become a familiar fixture in recent years and traditionally brings the men’s WorldTour calendar in China to a close. The parcours is fairly traditional. In my opinion, we’re looking at five stages for the sprinters and one decisive stage for the general classification. Some of the sprint stages feature a few climbs, so you could make a case for certain riders trying something from the breakaway or attacking on the hills. However, I think that’s quite unlikely to change the overall picture. As I’ve said in previous editions, we might see one or two slightly more selective sprints, but, on paper, we should have five sprint finishes before the final stage decides the GC. That final stage finishes in Nongla (3,2km at 7,3%), a familiar uphill finish with a brutally steep final kilometre, averaging more than 14,8%%. It’s a punchy climb, but one that should suit punchy riders rather than pure climbers. With that in mind, my pick for the overall victory is Tom Pidcock. Pidcock has come agonisingly close to winning on several occasions during the closing part of the season. He arrives here, in my opinion, as the main favourite, and he has everything he needs to win this race. The final climb is almost tailor-made for his characteristics. Let’s see if he can finally turn his recent performances into a victory. That said, there are some interesting challengers. One rider who immediately stands out is Jarno Widar, coming off victory at Tre Valli Varesine and a good performance in Lombardia. This finish should also suit his characteristics very well, and he has every chance of producing another strong result. Another name to watch is Kevin Vauquelin who is arguably looking to salvage his season here. He comes off a victory at the Giro d’Abruzzo, admittedly against a weaker field, but it’s still an encouraging result. The final climb suits him, and he has been showing good form lately. Maxim Van Gils is another particularly interesting option. The Red Bull rider has a rare opportunity to race for himself here, and the parcours should suit him well. Jonathan Narváez is also worth keeping an eye on. He finished third here last year, his characteristics match this course nicely, and he hasn’t been riding badly either. And then there’s Leo Bisiaux definitely one to watch. Decathlon have been performing very strongly, and this is a parcours that should suit him, particularly the final climb. I think he has everything he needs to achieve a very interesting result here. As for Juan Ayuso, his end to the season has been well below expectations. The final climb isn’t a bad fit for him, so the question is whether he can arrive in the right condition and finally deliver the performance we know he’s capable of. Overall, I expect the GC battle to come down to that final uphill finish. #TourofGuangxi

And that brings my final professional race predictions of 2026 to an end! I’ll be publishing a more detailed end-of-season post soon, probably tomorrow or the day after, I’m planning to share some analysis and statistics looking back at how my predictions performed throughout the year. I also want to share something with you all. As many of you know, putting these predictions together takes a huge amount of time and occupies a significant part of my life. It’s a real personal commitment, and even a professional sacrifice, to keep up with so many races and produce these previews. There are days when I’m more tired than others, and days when finding the time is harder, but I’ve made a commitment to you, and I always try my best to honour it. The truth is that I absolutely love doing this. I love following the racing, analysing the parcours, making my predictions and sharing my thoughts with all of you. And while it takes a lot of work, your support and encouragement give me so much motivation to keep going. Knowing that you’re here, following the page and engaging with my predictions, genuinely means a lot to me. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for your support, for your trust, for following my work and for giving me the motivation to keep doing something I truly enjoy. I’m genuinely grateful for all of it. It’s been a fantastic 2026 season, full of great racing, exciting moments and plenty of fun. I’ll have more to say in my end-of-season review, but I couldn’t let these final predictions go by without expressing my gratitude. I hope to see you all again in 2027, ready for another season together. And hopefully, 2027 will be even better than 2026, which has already been an incredible year! ❤️ Thank you all for being part of this journey. 🙌 There are still a few non-professional races taking place over the coming months, including the Vuelta a Guatemala, the Tour of Okinawa and the Tour of Costa Rica, with races scheduled across October, November and December. I’ve previewed some of these races in previous years, so I might do the same again this season. I can’t promise anything just yet, but who knows? #CyclingPredictions

Chrono des Nations🇨🇵 WE ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Juliette Berthet ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Le Mouel, Squiban ⭐️⭐️⭐️Claes, Dickson, Vigilia ⭐️⭐️Biriukova, Gontova, Stern, Kononenko ⭐️Bussi, Curtout, Rouat, Olbrechts, Almansa Elisa Longo Borghini, who would have been one of the main favourites, is absent due to illness. Her absence makes the race a little more open, but I still believe Juliette Berthet has everything she needs to take the victory. Berthet is finishing the season in excellent form. What's particularly impressive is how strong she remains despite having raced so much throughout the year. She doesn't seem to be showing any signs of fatigue, and this time trial could be the perfect way for her to round off her season. I'm also very curious to see what Célia Le Mouel can do. The French time trial champion will be one to watch, and it will be interesting to see how she measures up against the other contenders. #ChronodesNations
