At the 8th German-Arab Gulf Dialogue on Security and Cooperation in Berlin, it was a pleasure discussing ‘Building Understanding Through Knowledge' on education and culture. Especially pleased to exchange perspectives with HRH Prince Turki Al Faisal, Honorary Chairman of the Dialogue
Near to my heart was moderating ‘From Participation to Leadership,’ focused on youth empowerment. I was impressed by the insight and determination of the emerging leaders shaping these conversations.

At the 8th German-Arab Gulf Dialogue on Security and Cooperation, convened by @DAFG_eV in Berlin on the eve of this week's meetings in New York, the discussion turned on bringing the hostilities in the region to an end. The Gulf states have held firm in the face of Iran's attacks, and they will be full parties to whatever regional order follows. A settlement that stops the fighting without addressing the full range of Iran's threats would only defer the next crisis. Geography keeps our channels to Tehran open, and Iran's conduct will decide how far they go. Hormuz has made plain that Gulf security and European prosperity are bound together, and the EU-GCC summit in Riyadh on 24 October is where that shared stake should become a security partnership.
