There is an initiative measure on the Washington state ballot that would require sex verification for girls athletes in K-12 schools. In addition to being transphobic, it is invasive and violates all girls’ right to privacy.

Alright team. This is unacceptable. If a patient asks you to wear an n95 mask, just put the mask on and move on with your care. Throwing an attitude, doing extra (harmful) things, and being angry screws up patient care and your own shift for no reason.

Paused last night at $275/2000. So while I'm studying for my cardiology exam tomorrow, can people help me bridge that $1725 gap?

Most disheartening about this interview is Marissa Mayer's view that gender doesn't matter in tech and that eventually gender balance will come. She is worth $1.4B. She wants women at the table but doesn't see a role in doing anything proactive about it.

The thing about Google clearing a forest in Finland without permits is that they decided that whatever fine they might face is worth it. It doesn’t cost them as much as not getting the land cleared.

I worked for Meals on Wheels. It didn't pay much at all but it was the most rewarding job I ever had. I also felt more appreciated by my coworkers & boss than any other job I've had. It isn't just the food, it's socialization, people being checked on etc. We really helped ppl.
China now has 82,000 senior canteens serving over 4 million elderly people every day!
Fresh, balanced meals average about 2 dollars, with extra help for those who need it!
They sit inside neighborhoods so seniors can eat together, or get delivery when they cannot leave home!
This is what happens when a country invests in caring for its people!
