I just found out that Bo Duke was at my college homecoming yesterday. It was nostalgic enough just hanging out with people I hadn’t seen in two and a half decades, but meeting a Duke brother would have been insane.
I’m biased, but his slurve/sweeper looked like the best horizontal breaking ball out there today. Some very 12-6 curves on display from some other guys though.
Thanks to @09USABaseball5 and the @TrineBaseball team and staff for hosting Sunday’s prospect camp. Not a bad way to celebrate my 18th birthday.
Trine University has a cool dome for indoor practices. Full football field and tons of room for baseball. Ryne has been accepted into the mechanical engineering dept w/ aerospace minor, now doing a prospect camp.
Woke up and drove 2 hours to my 25th college reunion right on the Kentucky border. Drove home and picked my son for a prospect camp near the Michigan border. Oh, he also turns 18 tomorrow.
I would do so many things to see the Cubs anywhere close to this. Also, I enjoyed how Smoltz kept talking about how fatigued Miz was.
The D3 lawsuit is without merit because it’s very clearly laid out that schools don’t offer athletic scholarships. That said, plenty of D3 schools bend the rules. I went to school with plenty of athletes who had no business being there.
Jimmy Dolan is a shitty person, period.

I was driving home tonight just thinking about how lucky I am to do what I do.
I spend so much time with these guys that I know how much certain moments mean to them. I see the frustrating days, the setbacks, the days where nothing seems to click.
So when things finally start coming together for them, it’s hard not to get just as excited as they do.
And something that makes all of this even more special to me is that my 3-year-old son gets to grow up around these guys. He gets to watch them show up every day, work hard, handle adversity, and chase something they care about. I don’t think I could ask for a better environment for him to grow up around.
Had a lot of moments this week that reminded me why I love doing this.
Couldn’t be more proud of these guys. I really do have the best job in the world.
But I was told that Caleb can't throw into tight windows, which is the kind of nonsense you only spew if you've never watch him play.
Tomorrow should be fun. I'm driving 2 hours down to my college homecoming for my 25th reunion, then back home, then 3 hours up to a hotel for my son's prospect camp the next morning.
Had a pretty funny interaction with the guy who took over as Cleveland's closer after Kerry Wood was traded to the Yankees.

I love these clips. The only problem is that we have to keep fixing the house because I run through a wall every time I watch one.
