The youngest current client of Raindrops Rising is a 1-year-old baby girl who was sexually trafficked at a hotel in Jacksonville, Florida.
“For two weeks, she was being passed around room to room before anyone reported anything. They contacted us. We contacted the U.S. Marshals Service. We were able to get her out of that situation and get her here within 24 hours,” said Jess Kern, founder of the Porter County-based organization.
Raindrops Rising is a rare agency that performs extractions of sex trafficking victims across the country, of any age, providing safe escapes and fresh starts, often with legal name changes to protect survivors from their former captors.
