This is the scene in my sister’s hood at Downsview Park, Warren. She was scared for her life.

They engaged 150+ people of all ages over 5+ hours & they made it FUN! They used coloured sticks to get people to share their preferences for possible park features & collected postcards from the future about all the fun things you'll be able to do in the park.
A bit of a belated shout-out to @JcElijahMB, @kimplans & Jose Marti from my team for their amazing work this weekend on a truly great pop-up for the upcoming Spadina Pier Park at #NuitBlanche.
She even seems to understand this herself b/c she begins her article by describing a bunch of cases where just the opposite was true. But to her Canadians are good & tolerant people so these must be exceptions to the rule. Still her most mind boggling claim to me is this: /3
It was a huge honour to meet & work with this amazing group of people over the last few days as part of @DemocracyNext’s Int’l Task Force on the Democrarization of City Planning. I’m feeling motivated & inspired & I can’t wait to share more about what we’re building together!
Wrapping up my Euro trip with a few days in The Hague as part of the Int’l Task Force on Democratising City Planning organized by @DemocracyNext. Specifically we’ll be talking about something I am very passionate about - the use of civic lotteries to enchants public engagement.
Agreed. Was just there the other day!
Don’t judge a book by its cover! The Mausoleum of Galla Placidia in Ravenna may look plain and unremarkable on the outside - but inside it is majestic, vibrant, and truly magnificent. Top photo by @westernexile
The report is out on the outcomes of the Feb consultations on Hanlan’s Point along with a short survey to gather feedback on the community’s satisfaction with the proposed directions. Check out the project page to read the report & take the survey here: s.cotsurvey.chkmkt.com/?e=34…
Now the whole beach is clothing-optional & there are Progress Pride flags flying above it. A step in the right direction towards ensuring Hanlan’s remains a safe queer space!
I had a chance to tour the new One Yonge Community Recreation Centre, recently opened by @TorontoPFR and built into the podium of a new condominium project as part of a development agreement. It’s beautiful!Especially those fun mosaics!
