What are the most critical spots to study in Poker? One of them is VALUEBETTING! Extracting the most money from your good hands is massively underrated. Many players don't necessarily struggle from a lack of knowledge but have bad thoughts that hold them back. Here are 4 toxic thoughts that hold you back from betting thin for value: 1) "He might raise, and I don't know what to do, so I better check." 2) "What if he has a better hand." 3) "I need to have strong hands in my check range (OOP)" - GTO Balancing BS syndrome 4) "I want to outplay my opponent" - Fancy play syndrome. Checking way too often with good hands out of position. Those thoughts become more dominant in the later stages of a tournament when the stakes are higher. On top of that, many players lack the understanding to value bet thin in certain spots or use proper sizings. You may have studied proper value betting in theory but lack execution. Often, it is connected with mental problems. In general, you need to ask yourself how well I can apply everything I learn? Creating awareness around your ability to execute specific strategies and not have toxic thoughts holding you back is essential. And if you have some, identify them and work on them. That is the first step. Thank you for reading this thread. If you found value, please RT and follow @bencb789 and @raiseyouredge for more on Poker & Mindset. Stay strong champs!
