Haitians paid for their freedom. Haiti lost to farmers & civilians in 1844-56, losing 12 battles to farmers while outnumbering them.
You guys aren’t glorious warriors after all.

If Dominicans were such great warriors, why didn't they liberate themselves from the French /Spaniards and why didn't Simon Bolivar go to them for help to liberate the rest of Latin America? Aren't you all proud Latinos? Why didn't you help your fellow Latinos? Why was Haiti doing all the fighting to help liberate LATIN AMERICA.
“DR needs Haiti.”
Haiti makes up 0.9% of the Dominican Republic’s GDP.
Haitians flee to the DR for a better life. DR doesn’t need Haiti.
They don’t want to be Haitian because of how much a shit whole of is. They don’t want to admit it.

The Dominican Republic ranks as the Caribbean’s top tourism development destination, with record visitors and a recent Fitch upgrade to BB amid solid growth. Dominicans lead foreign MLB talent (about 10% of players) and export bachata, merengue, and hospitality. Soft-power indexes place it mid-tier and rising. Online discourse often highlights Haiti border tensions and identity debates, yet broader views center on cultural vitality and economic progress.
Nobody shrugged it off like “nothing.” I said it’s not existential. You moved the goalposts the second the numbers didn’t support the doom narrative.

Who said it was existential? No it isn't but it would hurt
The US have attempted the very same scenario against 🇨🇦 just to see their economy suffer from it and Republicans losing both houses as one of the reasons
You can't seriously shrug it off like nothing, jobs would be lost
