(1/3) Understanding the role of viscoelasticity in the Bone marrow (BM) niche.
Blood cells are produced by Haematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) in the BM niche. However, mutations in HSCs can cause the production of leukemic cells that alter the BM #ExtracellularMatrix (ECM).
(3/3) My @CDTLifETIME #PhD project aims to develop a physiologically relevant bone marrow #model to study the role of ECM #viscoelasticity in healthy and diseased conditions using functionalised viscoelastic hydrogels. 👩🔬
