When it comes to work, only about 20% of stroke survivors return within the first year. For hemorrhagic stroke survivors, fewer than 10% make it back at full capacity.

One year ago, stroke removed my ability to move or feel my legs. I spent months staring directly at the parts of my body where all motor control was severed. Doctors had a grim outlook on how much, if any, I would regain. Eleven months later, I’m doing over 13,000 steps a day!
Not to undermine the struggle of stroke victims, including my own - but honestly my stroke (which I only had 1% chance of surviving) saved my life. it’s a rare thing for a survivor to say. 8 months ago I was in such poor health, 150lb heavier and just waiting to die.

I talked to #StarTrek star Robert Picardo about how much of the EMH we’ll see in Starfleet Academy, specifically if we’ll get standalone episodes like we did in Voyager. I was more than satisfied with his response

I get all my #StarTrek news from TrekCore and whenever I need a special HD or 4K screenshot of one particular frame, the people at Trekcore always help me out. Please support this fantastic (ad-free!) site if you can!
Thanks to your generous contributions, we've nearly reached our fundraising goal — a year of expenses for our volunteer-run efforts at TrekCore.com — but we're not there yet.

The dream to own a red convertible by 50 went a little different than planned. #StrokeSurvivor
Stroke recovery is a long journey. I have spent the last 6 weeks essentially digging my self out of Hell. I have a long way to go but also proud by how far I have come. #StrokeRecovery #LeftSideParalysis
