With co-occurrence of species a better predictor of worsening lung function, we identified 22 taxa (inc. #pseudomonas, #staphyloccus) with significant negative associations on lung function when both are present in the infection! 3/4

Finally we took a secondary data set and randomly sampled the #microbiome. We found a clear negative association with more of these species present the worse lung function! These results give renewed importance to understanding the #ecology of the microbiome. 4/4
