Both are technical advances targeted at improving performance.
The former lets modders "compile" the scripts in their mods to a format that gets way better performance.
The latter reworks how the game cleans up garbage data under the hood in order to reduce lag spikes.

Nathan Silver has been removed from the BELIEVEINDEMONS team, and will hopefully be blacklisted from any future projects.
Everything that they have done for the project will be replaced in an upcoming update in the future, as we do not want to associate with them going forwards.
