📍 Munyonyo Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) yesterday joined the Indian community in Uganda to celebrate the Diwali Food Festival 2026. The festival, held at Speke Resort Munyonyo, brought together business leaders and other guests for a celebration of culture, food and music. It featured over 100 food vendors showcasing Indian cuisine, alongside cultural performances promoting unity in diversity. Representing the Commissioner General, Assistant Commissioner Public and Corporate Affairs, Robert Kalumba @rkalumba1 said URA’s participation demonstrated the Authority’s appreciation of cultural diversity. Kalumba noted that such engagements strengthen partnerships, promote mutual understanding and deepen cooperation between Uganda and the Indian community, particularly in trade, investment and national development. In his remarks, Chairman of the Indian Association of Uganda, Paresh Mehta, thanked URA for participating in the celebrations, describing its presence as a sign of solidarity and appreciation for the Indian community. Diwali, popularly known as the Festival of Lights, is an important celebration in Indian culture, symbolising the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. #FFeBanno
