Daily Scorecard Golf

Happy 2026! The first post for Daily Scorecard starting with where it all started. @TheHomeofGolf I had the good fortune to play the Old Course twice and had @caddiegolftours alongside for both trips around. What an experience!

Another Virginia round with Dad in our golf-about through Appalachia -- This one at the Tazewell County CC -- Huge Shout out to Mr. Bryce and Mr. Henry for hosting us. TCCC celebrates 100 years in 2027 and the course is in fantastic shape. A real treat to be there.

Back to SW Virginia & @GateCityVA -- home of Scott County Park GC. The round starts at the top of the mountain. Then it's nine holes down and up the slope. The welcoming sign next to the high school notes it's the hometown of slam dunk b-ball star @McclungMac @gcfbprepostgame

To Eastern Kentucky and the Raven Rock GC. Located in Jenkins --just across the VA state line-- the land was once a strip mine -- but was repurposed into today's beautiful golf course. #1 is a par 3 that grabs your attention. The last photo is my dad teeing off on the back nine.

Back to Bristol but this time on the Virginia side for Clear Creek GC. It's a @CityofBristolVA muni with nice greens. The last image here is the photo I took of Dad walking up to #8 green along Clear Creek Lake. #17 is a can't forget par 4 that drops straight down the mountain

To far Eastern Tennessee and the Tri Cities GC (The 3 cities are Bristol, Kingsport & Johnson City) 27 Holes here. The Pines 9 has some very difficult greens that play much smaller. All greens are in excellent shape. Course is very close to @ItsBristolBaby Speedway.

One more day in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Western North Carolina. This post is Old Beau GC. I don't know of an inland course I've played with more spectacular views. The last pic is one I took of my Dad on the par 3 14th. 148 yards to hole w/ 50+ Miles of views.

The wonderful Chi Chi Rodriguez born otd 1935. His namesake course @ChiChiGolfClub in Clearwater, Florida is more than golf. It is home to @ChiChiAcademy which uses golf as a vehicle to help thousands of @my_pcs kids learn about life. #thatsalegacy

To near Binghamton, NY and the golf course at Chenango Valley State Park. It's one of 19 @NYstateparks locations w/ golf. 20 years ago on hole #3 -- cousins Joan Villecco and Ruth McDonald each made an ace in the same group. Imagine that, making a 1 to halve the hole! #whynot

Willie Anderson born otd 1879. The Scotsman from North Berwick was a 4x winner of Western Open & 4x winner of @usopengolf The first and last coming here at Myopia Hunt Club in the countryside close to Boston. The last in 1905. That was also the last of 4x the club hosted @USGA

Let's stay in Florida with today's scorecard but move much closer to the Atlantic Ocean for what is now known as Jensen Beach GC. The name change happened a couple of years ago...but it's still a Tommy Fazio design between the St. Lucie River and the Causeway/Ocean.

To Central Florida and @EagleDunesGC north of Orlando. It's a Mike Dasher course open to the public and set within a modest residential community. It also includes Lake Kitty though several horse farms are nearby.

Thank you to Hillside GC in Sidney, Nebraska for this scorecard! They claim to have the best muni in the state. You'll get no argument from me! Lots of history in town. Fort Sidney was key to the transcontinental railroad. Also, longtime hometown for @Cabelas @NebraskaTourism

Happy Birthday @TheBig_Easy Winner all around the world including the first playing of the Sarazen World Open in 1994 @ChateauElan northeast of Atlanta. The win was his second in USA after taking that year's @usopengolf Els needed a final back round 30 to take the title!

This is about as country as country can get! The Okolona Country Club is just outside the town of the same name in Chickasaw County, Mississippi. It's not too far away from Tupelo #Elvis

To California's Coachella Valley and O'Donnell Golf Club. At 100 years it's the oldest course around. A block from the main drag in Palm Springs. Tucked in tight against the San Jacinto Mountains this private 9-holer cuts a low profile against the area's more fashionable clubs.

Happy Birthday Beth Daniel! The @GolfHallofFame & @LPGA Hall of Famer won her 2nd @usga Women's Am at Cincinnati CC in 1977. Daniel said it was a tougher win than her first! This year the course reopened after a major "refresh" from Dr. Michael Hudzan and @AspenGolf @GCGA

To rural Connecticut and the Chanticlair GC. It's a 9-holer with an island green that you'll play twice if you go around twice. The course is under new management and the routing has changed a bit since I picked up this card. I'm sure it's absolutely gorgeous now. #fallcolors

To Northeastern Texas and Hide-A-Way Lake Club. The 27 hole community runs along I-20 just outside of Tyler. The scorecard features a unique local rule -- Free relief for balls ending up on iron-ore
