🔐 Quantum computing is coming for crypto's signatures. Most chains aren't ready. By @LarryPureLabs Crypto isn't just for speculators anymore. It now plays three real roles in global finance 👇 1️⃣ **A hedge for institutions and everyday people** Since the spot Bitcoin ETFs launched, BlackRock and Fidelity have added BTC to their portfolios. In countries with falling currencies and strict capital controls, crypto helps people and small businesses protect what they earn. 2️⃣ **Cross-border payments** SWIFT is slow, expensive and exposed to politics. Stablecoins settle 24/7, peer-to-peer, for a fraction of the cost. MiCA in the EU and the GENIUS Act in the US are bringing clear rules on reserves and anti-money-laundering. 3️⃣ **Tokenizing real-world assets** Bonds, real estate and commodities are moving onchain, with transfers and payouts run by smart contracts. But a 30-year bond will outlive today's cryptography. ⚠️ **The hidden risk** Bitcoin and Ethereum use elliptic-curve signatures. Once a fault-tolerant quantum computer exists, Shor's algorithm can recover private keys from them. Attackers can already "harvest now, decrypt later." Upgrading a mature chain takes huge coordination, and the resistance to change is just as big. 🧬 **The quantum-native path** Proof-of-work chains built from the start on UOV ("Oil and Vinegar") signatures, a scheme under NIST review, offer: • Short signatures and fast verification • Strong performance for multisig and high-volume use • No risky hard fork later Trade-offs remain: UOV has large public keys, and PoW still has to keep mining power spread out. 💎 **Where Pure Wallet fits** Your keys are only as safe as where they're stored. Pure Wallet: ✅ Truly offline Bitcoin + EVM ✅ Post-quantum cryptography ✅ ISO 27001 & ISO 27003 certified ✅ No hardware to tamper with, ship or intercept Crypto won't replace fiat. It's becoming the parallel value network beside it. In the quantum era, liquidity and hype won't protect long-term value. Security that's quantum-ready from day one will.
