It just keeps getting “better”…

Seeing more x-rated stuff in my timeline and searches the past few days than I have in the entire decade before. Feature or bug of the Elon era?

I have the feeling my map is becoming for the US elections what's the @MariahCarey's song "All I want for Christmas is you" has become for the holiday season...

On Election Day, a reminder that hundreds of thousands of fellow citizens will not be able to vote, or will have their votes discarded, because the GOP, terrified of demographic changes, has spent the past decade trying to make it harder for certain groups and areas to vote.
Latest example: PA GOP is trying to toss thousands of mail-in ballots missing a handwritten date, even though they were received *before* Election Day—in other words, there is no question they were mailed in time.

just so were all clear, Musk is firing half of Twitter's staff, including huge swaths of their content moderation capability, four days before opening up identity-confirmation-free verification to the whole website which will happen...the day before a national election.

I would prefer $20 a month for no tracking, ad free and a checkmark. That is value to me….
Update: Apparently I was just one of the “early” folks affected by this issue, which is being fixed: nytimes.com/2022/10/31/techn…
Life with a two-letter Instagram account: 10-20 of these emails a day, for years, because people are trying to hack the account.
The latest: My account is dead because someone reported it for “impersonation” and @instagram didn’t bother to confirm before disabling it.
Between this, firing people who miss unplanned deadlines, and Musk personally promoting tweets by conspiracy theorists, sounds like Twitter is in good hands.

Also amazing how quickly these bot replies about “contacting this or that person to get unlocked” are unleashed anytime people mention Instagram accounts being hacked.
