I completely disagree with lowering our flag for Dolly Parton. Under the Flag Code (4 U.S.C. § 7(m)), the President orders half-staff primarily for principal government figures (presidents, vice presidents, Supreme Court justices, Cabinet secretaries, members of Congress, governors, etc.) and in some cases for other officials, foreign dignitaries, or national tragedies. Presidents have occasionally extended it to leading private citizens as a mark of national respect—Martin Luther King Jr. is a well-known example—but it is not the traditional or routine use for entertainers or cultural figures. The US Flag needs to remain at full staff.

Our list for the Best of Private Clubs has been released. Notably, there are now 9 clubs with initiation fees at $200,000 and above, along with 16 clubs whose initiation fees exceed $100,000. For the complete rankings, visit myavidgolfer.com.

As a committed Democrat, I’m dismayed my party is playing chicken with the food security of 42M Americans. I reject a political gamble that exposes a vulnerable constituency to widespread deprivation and chaos.

Totally agree. I’ve loved SF and the many things to do, places to go, Union square was amazing, and wow the restaurants 😋. It hasn’t been safe for years now and even a friend took a job and left within a week it was so bad. LA is on its way as well. We need a change.
