Avalanche Helicon (today, Sep 22, ~15:00 UTC)
This is an actual network upgrade.
Helicon changes how Avalanche staking works: the minimum lock can drop from about two weeks to 48 hours, validators can auto-renew, and new periods need 90% uptime to get rewards. The C-Chain also gets “continuous execution” and a dynamic minimum gas price. If you run a node and you are not on AvalancheGo v1.15.0, you can fall off the chain.
For traders, the usual pattern is: AVAX gets a headline bid into the upgrade, then people sell the news unless usage actually rises.

Solana Alpenglow (feature gate: Sep 28)
This is arguably the biggest protocol story of the month.
Solana is switching consensus from TowerBFT toward Votor.
Finality from 12.8 seconds toward 150 milliseconds.
{Alpenglow is Solana trying to make trades finalize almost instantly and free block space by taking validator votes off the main highway.
For you, that’s better UX and a news-driven SOL tape.}

Deribit BTC + ETH options expiry (Sep 24–25)
This is more of a positioning event.
When a huge pile of options dies, market makers hedge, then stop hedging. That can fake a breakout or a crash in a few hours with no news.
If you are leveraged into Friday, you are trading other people’s expiry, not “fundamentals.” Quiet size or spot is the simple play.
Plasma $XPL unlock (Sep 25)
Calendars flag this as the week’s largest token unlock. Team/investor coins that were locked from last year’s launch window start hitting the market. Unlocks do not guarantee a dump, but they add sellers; so, caution.

Circle Arc (already live since Sep 16)
Arc is Circle’s own chain, built for payments and USDC gas. Day one went as expected, hundreds of millions in volume and meme launchpads did most of the heavy lifting (80%+ in early reports). @circle
IBVM mainnet / TGE prep
@IBVMCHAIN posted that mainnet is live and a token generation event is being prepared. They pitch a Bitcoin-linked ZK rollup that talks to EVM chains.
This is early; Mainnet-live posts often come weeks before a liquid listing.

Kinetiq Elysium (testnet from Sep 22, mainnet aimed around Oct 20)
Elysium is an L2 tied to Hyperliquid.
Testnet starts around today; mainnet is slated about four weeks later.
The token angle they sell: part of sequencer fees buy and burn KNTQ.
Until mainnet has real users, that burn is a promise.
