How has losing $1.6M in Bitcoin in the @COLDCARDwallet hack changed my thoughts on the safety of devices to store crypto?
I obviously made a mistake in letting the device do the seed phrase generation. Hindsight's 20/20. But also, and most notably, I'm just a regular guy that tried hard to do everything right and thought that he did and still got drained.
I can't comment on the safety of devices to store crypto. I don't know enough about the topic to comment on it. And I don't care to. Perhaps that's the point of this all though. If it really is this complicated and technical, perhaps it's not worth doing.
I was driving to our cottage today with my oldest son in our Tesla. I put it on autodrive. And all I could think about was how much blind trust I have in this company. In this car. In this technology. And I understand none of it.
Our society only works because of trust.
We stand on the tenth story of a building because we trust the architects who designed it. And construction workers who built it. And the materials engineers. And so on.
Nobody knows how basically anything works. We walk around with so much blind faith because we have to. Because our society would fucking cease to exist without it.
Perhaps that's the bigger story.

We've been quiet as the first ERA pilot preps to go live this quarter.
Now they've got some capital deployed (stealth), solid PoC data, an 8 fig LP pipeline, and a 0 to 1 path towards yield generation on a massive non yield bearing asset.

Saw a few people talking about @giga_dex DEX, so I decided to spend some time looking into it myself.
Not gonna lie, there are a couple of ideas here that I think are pretty clever.(as expected from big brains from @berachain )
🤖 Anti-farm protection
We've all seen bots jump into pools, grab rewards and disappear.
GIGA Protect is supposed to catch that kind of behavior and make it much harder for mercenary LPs to farm emissions.
Always happy to see protocols thinking about this.
⚙️ The GIGA Machine
This is probably my favorite part.
A chunk of the supply is locked from day one, earns protocol revenue, then uses that revenue to buy more GIGA from the market and lock it again.
If the DEX keeps growing, that creates a pretty interesting feedback loop.
