In my interviews with Israelis, a portrait has emerged: a people defiant but weary, resistant to Palestinian pain but traumatized from war, fed up with the world but fearful of global isolation, and in a tug-of-war with themselves. Read and listen: npr.org/2026/10/25/g-s1-1495…

1/ Today’s @IsraelMFA post about @bradlander - and its Oct. 9 post about Nobel Peace Prize laureate Navi Pillay - are estimated to be 100% AI generated, according to these checks by the prominent AI text detector Pangram. Both texts are incendiary.
This was not about harvesting olives. It was about harvesting headlines. Brad Lander’s latest stunt is nothing more than a calculated political provocation. Lander traveled to a foreign country, deliberately entered a restricted security area, and participated in an unauthorized activity without the required coordination. What makes this stunt even more outrageous is that his own team contacted Israeli representatives in the United States ahead of his visit and was explicitly informed that proper coordination with the relevant authorities was required. He chose to ignore those instructions. At a time of heightened security tensions, Israeli security forces have a responsibility to protect lives, prevent dangerous incidents, and maintain public order. Had anyone been injured as a result of his reckless political theater, Lander would undoubtedly have been among the first to demand that Israeli authorities intervene and provide protection. Brad Lander came looking for a confrontation. Now he is pretending to be its victim.

2/ The post on Navi Pillay. “Joseph Goebbels is certainly applauding from hell.” xitter.cf/IsraelMFA/status/21085…
If there were an award for lies, hatred, and blood libels, Navi Pillay wouldn’t just be a contender. She’d be a frontrunner. Her role in the relentless, politically motivated demonization of Israel and promotion of the genolie speaks volumes. Awarding Pillay the Nobel Peace Prize isn’t a recognition of justice. It’s the grotesque weaponization of an award to legitimize anti-Israel hatred and prejudice. Now that the Nobel commission has rewarded the biggest lie of the 21st century, Joseph Goebbels is certainly applauding from hell.

US and foreign travelers are increasingly denied entry to Israel over their ties to Palestinians, plans to visit the West Bank and opinions of Israel, lawyers say. Entry bans rose sharply this past year and happen weekly, says one lawyer. My report: npr.org/2026/09/02/nx-s1-595…

1/ Jared Kushner is in Israel today meeting Netanyahu. He had a rare meeting with Hamas in Egypt yesterday with no clear breakthroughs on a postwar transition for Gaza. An official briefed on the talks told me some of what the US is asking from both sides: 🧵👇

5/ No concrete steps were taken in Gaza in 10 months since the ceasefire deal, and now Israeli elections are 10 weeks away. Netanyahu doesn't want to be seen as giving concessions on Gaza. Kushner's challenge is to get Israel to agree to take steps behind the scenes.

Jared Kushner on Mon meets Netanyahu, who rejected a new plan for Hamas to disarm and Israel to leave Gaza. "We will hear the concerns...what is critical is that we both agree on the desired outcome and are finding ways to accelerate progress," a Board of Peace official told me.
