Amazing!
How do the Beatles connect into this week's election? I'll tell you. On their visit to America in 1964 they got US albums to bring back home, including one by R&B singer Major Lance, in pic. Major Lance's daughter, Keisha Lance Bottoms, is now the governor-elect of Georgia.

Doing this will significantly reduce the risk of future criminals like Trump, et al to attempt election tampering with corrupt state officials. It will also make everyone's vote count the same which is the way it should be rather than just a handful of swing state voters.
🚨 BREAKING: Democrats now have the power to effectively abolish the Electoral College.

The richest man in the world spent more money than most people will see in a lifetime, only to lose a Senate race in Texas by double digits. This is a reminder that we must overturn Citizens United. But it's also a reminder that organized people can still defeat organized money.

BREAKING: HOLY SMOKES! Democrats now control enough states to effectively abolish the Electoral College through the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. Republicans did NOT have this on their bingo cards... Under the Constitution, states control their electoral votes and are allowed to decide how they are allocated during presidential elections. Currently, almost every state gives its votes to whoever wins the state. In practice, the current system means that a candidate can win the national popular vote, but lose the election because small states like Wyoming exert undue influence on the outcome. That state has 3 electoral votes with a population of just 577,000 people. California has 54 electoral votes and a population of 39.5 million people. So a vote in Wyoming is essentially 3.8 times as valuable as one in California. Since 1992, Democrats have won the popular vote seven out of nine times. Under the NPV, states that join agree to give their electoral votes to whoever wins the national popular vote, not just their own state. So a state could go red on the map, but if the Democrat wins the national vote, they still get that state's votes. And vice versa of course. The crucial mechanism is that the compact doesn't trigger until the member states have a combined power of at least 270 electoral votes, the number needed to win the White House. So far, 18 states plus D.C. have joined, totaling 222 electoral votes. We only need 48 more. Now is the chance to pass this measure in every state possible. Democrats won both houses of the legislature in Wisconsin for the first time in 18 years (10 electoral votes). We won the Pennsylvania state Senate for the first time since 1993 (19 votes). We now have a trifecta in Michigan (15 votes). And we won the governor’s race in Nevada (6 votes). 10 + 19 + 15 + 6 = 50. 222 + 50 = 272. And if we hold our lead in the Arizona Senate, that number could climb as high as 283, more than enough to trigger the compact. In addition to removing an imbalance in our system that favors Republicans, this novel approach would fundamentally change how candidates run their presidential campaigns. Currently, they are incentivized to ignore most of the country. If you live in a “safe” state, red or blue, your vote for President is basically decided before you cast it. Campaigns spend their time and money in a handful of swing states while the rest of us watch from the sidelines. If the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact is adopted, they'll have reason to hit every state because they're aiming to win the largest swath of the country as a whole, not just certain states. States have until July 20, 2028 to join the compact in time for the next presidential election. We can fix our democracy. The time is now. Please like and share if you support this idea!

Alright so, we had 2 years under biden with a democrat majority and we've now had 2 years of republican majority under trump. Lets take a look at what each parties legislative accomplisments were. Under Dems American Rescue Plan Act: $1.9T package with direct payments, vaccine funding, and an expanded child tax credit which cut child poverty in half. CHIPS and Science Act: semiconductor manufacturing, R&D, and supply chain investment. Inflation Reduction Act: largest federal clean energy investment, drug price negotiations, ACA subsidies and capped insulin at $35 a month. PACT Act: expanded health care and disability benefits for veterans. Under republicans One Big Beautiful Bill: extended 2017 tax cuts and added new deductions. Kicks millions off of their healthcare, snap, squeezes the poorest families in America. GENIUS Act: first federal regulatory framework for payment stablecoins. Epstein Files Transparency Act: required DOJ to release Epstein related records. DOJ is currently breaking this law by not releasing the full records. Laken Riley Act: mandatory detention for certain noncitizens accused of theft, burglary, assault on law enforcement, or crimes causing death/serious injury. Secure America Act: $70B for ICE and Border Patrol through FY2029.

So important. Let’s get this done by 2028!
This is what all the State Legislatures are looking like. Dems now have the power to pass the National Voter Compact to effectively abolish the Electoral College.

Please remember all the anti-democratic dogs that did not bark today. ICE did not intimidate or arrest voters at polling stations. Trump's attempt to disenfranchise voters in California failed miserably. Trump's planned shenanigans in Alaska no longer matter. Dems already won the Senate. And we dont have to wait anxiously to see what the House clerk will do on January 3rd regarding the seating of newly elected members. This blowout makes that anti-democratic tactic completely untenable now. Democrats won big tonight. But so too did democracy. Those who predicted democracy's death in America were mistaken.

This is an election-day reminder that election denial is a form of corruption and specifically an act of fraud. It means that individuals loyal to the leader have agreed to tell a lie to the American people about who won an election. They propagate that lie to their constituents, congregations, consumers, and their children until it becomes not just a party line but a credo.

This is called voter suppression and these people will 100% wait all day, if they have to, to vote. Republicans have done everything in their power to suppress the vote and I am sure more shenanigans are coming but don't tell me that people are not motivated and dedicated. This doesn't happen in red counties. They have like two machines per voter. My sincerest thank you to everyone who has to wait for hours to cast their vote. 🗳️💙🗳️💙

David Jolly: The other side of the aisle likes to throw around the term socialism. I just call it cheaper insurance. But tell me what a hurricane fund currently is that bails out our insurance companies? It sounds a whole lot like socialism to me. What does it mean when we give Elon Musk billions of dollars of tax credits and we don't tax his profits? Sounds a whole lot like socialism to me. What about a president who says, hey, if you vote for me and elect my team, we're going to give you a $5,000 check? What about a president who removes Maduro but supports Delce in Venezuela? What about a president who suggests we should allow investment in the hospitality industry on the island of Cuba? What about a president who invited Vladimir Putin to South Florida to come to Miami in December, a leader who has backed the Maduro regime, the Sandinistas, and the Cuban regime? They don't even understand economic theory on the other side of the aisle, folks. They're just arguing labels to try to scare us and divide us.

The name "Dan Sullivan" showing up twice on the Alaska ballot doesn't bother me. The name "Donald Trump" appearing in the Epstein files THOUSANDS of times does.

PEDIATRICIAN BACKGROUND: "I’m a board-certified pediatrician... I’m also proud of the work I did in the gun violence prevention space. My role at Everytown was actually to develop a program to educate medical students on how to talk to parents about the importance of secure firearm storage... It really only took one of those tragedies to compel me to want to do something." @AnnieAndrewsMD

A classic chart to counter the wisdom of crowds idea. US Americans are absolutely clueless about how common things are. They think over a quarter of Americans are Native Americans, one in five Americans is transgender, over a quarter of the population are Muslim, one in five households earn over half a million dollars. The right answer to all of these questions is 1%. They build their worldview on totally incorrect assumptions towards reality. Data literacy matters.

So Trump just helped Flávio Bolsonaro enter the US without a passport..while he's actively fleeing a Supreme Court arrest warrant for corruption in Brazil. I thought the mission was to deport criminal foreigners, not harbor them at Mar-a-Lago MAGA, you are a joke.
