BREAKING: The Senate has confirmed Tulsi Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence in a 52-48 vote. Mitch McConnell was the only Republican to vote no. Gabbard is known for defending Putin and his war against Ukraine (Russian state TV calls her “our girlfriend Tulsi” for a reason), supporting Bashar al-Assad, and backing traitors like Edward Snowden. A shameful day for the US Senate

Do we possess the basic common sense — for the sake of our country, our most classified materials, and our intelligence professionals — to vote down Tulsi Gabbard? We will soon find out.

Quietly, Hegseth announces a major policy change, ruling out Ukraine joining NATO. This is a complete capitulation to Putin, justifying his wars of aggression starting with Georgia in 2008. This will embolden Putin and undermine the interests of peace in Ukraine and Europe. A major blow to U.S. national security.

No country in Europe does more to stifle honest discussion of Israel/Palestine than Germany. It took five months for @Zeit to publish this interview. But it's finally out. Below, our exchange on Israeli apartheid and colonialism. zeit.de/kultur/2025-02/natha…

The lesson that Moscow, Beijing, and every other US adversary will take from this is that the US will back down in the end. That's very good news for them, not so much for the US.

The US now runs the serious risk of looking to Russia and China as if it's weaker than Russia. That may or may not bother everyone making decisions in the Trump administration, but it should certainly bother any American who cares about the security and future of their country.

I asked Zelenskyy something I’ve been curious to ask him for two years: for his version of the “and then Boris Johnson came to Kyiv and told us not to sign a deal” story. His answer here, plus comments from @shustry theguardian.com/world/2025/f…

There’s a measles outbreak in W Texas where 18% of kindergartners have a vaccine exemption (c/w 3% nationally). This will get much worse with RFK Jr. Wondering if Sen Collins will be very concerned when people start to die from preventable illnesses. forbes.com/sites/saradorn/20…

Russian Aeroflot planes keep breaking down mid-air. A Boeing 777-300 flying from Phuket to Moscow was forced to make an emergency landing in Bangkok. Second breakdown this year. But sure, who needs Western parts when you have import substitution?
