I really hope we can move past politicians thinking it is ok to insult or intimidate journalists.

🚨 | TENSIONS RISE AT FERRARI! PJ: “From what I know, Hamilton is not very well liked within Ferrari. His behaviour is almost the opposite of what the employees and engineers expect. The way he conducts himself hasn’t exactly made him popular.” “There is no preference for Hamilton over Leclerc, and I challenge anyone with inside information to say otherwise.” “Hamilton knows how to play politics very well. For years, he’s had the backing of the media, particularly the British press, which has strongly supported him. That’s how he’s managed to push certain narratives.” Hamilton is reportedly trying to gain political influence within Ferrari through the media, using public statements to shape opinion and getting close to John Elkann as though he wants to take control of the team. “He’s a master of politics. He played politics against Alonso and politically destroyed him that season.” Leclerc is also reportedly very angry about what happened in Mexico and believes his relationship with Hamilton has deteriorated. 📰 @Auto_Racer_it Youtube

How ironic the younger guy is being more mature here? I love Lewis but he's playing politics with the media with his statements. All Lewis had to do was keep it on the track and Charles would've given him the place back. He went off because of his "do or die" attitude as well. And he talks about being a team player while trying to get him a bigger penalty on the radio 😂

when you were at Mercedes I saw your team telling bottas to slow down every second race and now you want to have that energy but only when it’s you in the lead and not the other way around around
Lewis : « Before I joined this team, when I was in Mercedes, I watched and witnessed the back-and-forth between Charles and Carlos. Several races where they were battling so much that the person ahead just pulled away, and they had the pace to actually win the race. It’s one thing when that's happening in fourth and fifth as opposed to first and second, and you lose the win. That's significant. The guy is 28 years old, so I don't think it's an age thing. I think it's a mentality thing. It's like do or die. Like, either I win, or none of us do, and it shouldn't be that. It should be, us having got that one-two, which is still a good feeling. At Silverstone, I could have gone all kamikaze on him and taken him off and lost us the the win, but instead a one-two was there, and I think we got a one-two, or was it a one-three? I'm happy for the team to have experienced that. I'm hopeful we'll work towards a better place in the future. » #F1 #MexicoGP 🇲🇽

This is not how someone who cares about the team talks. It’s not how someone with actual racing integrity would frame a teammate fight, either. Incredibly disrespectful to everyone in there and to Charles. Get this diva out of the team and solve 50% of Ferrari’s issues.

I generally like both Lewis and Charles, but I’m not a big fan of how Lewis is trying to work the media to make it look like Charles did something terrible. All he did was try to pass him on the outside. Simple as two #1 drivers going for it, they both overcooked it. It happens.
Please, objectively speaking, at what point is Leclerc actually at fault? (I'm not talking about the FIA or the penalty.) Lewis leaves Charles the minimum amount of space through Turns 1 and 2, and Charles does the same to Lewis through Turn 3. So far, no problem. Then, at Turn 4, both drivers brake too late. Even if Charles wanted to make the corner, it was impossible because Lewis didn't make the corner either. And thankfully, Charles cut the track, because there could have been a crash or a major collision between the two cars. Having laid out the facts, I'll say it again: Charles races in F1 to win, not to finish P2, P3 or P4. If it had been Max instead of Lewis, he would have done exactly the same thing. Every driver knows how important clean air is hereeee. What personally bothers me, and I'm being completely honest here, is Lewis's complaints over the radio during the first stint, speaking as if they were fighting for a championship. And you can understand his frustration, because he started P1 and found himself down in P3 by Turn 6. When you're frustrated, it's easy to get angry and say things you might not otherwise say. In the media pen, Charles took responsibility for the penalty, saying several times that he deserved it. He also acknowledged that they both went too far, because they both braked too late. In his interviews, Lewis never takes responsibility. I get the impression that he wants to put all the blame on Leclerc. Even Vasseur disagrees with that narrative, saying that Lewis pushed Charles wide. And we know Charles: he prefers to calm things down. The problem is that this makes Leclerc look like the villain, the one who respects nothing, the one who cost Lewis a victory. But it's not Charles's fault that Lewis missed his braking point at Turn 4, which allowed Max to pass. Had Lewis made the corner properly, Charles would have let him back through (as Charles confirmed in his interview). Anyway, we will see what happens #F1 #MexicoGP 🇲🇽
