You don't understand we have to watch 300 episodes of 90s Star Trek so you can appreciate the payoff of this two minute monologue in season 6 of DS9

Nick Fuentes says incredibly smart things, maybe the smartest political commentator out there. Makes terrible predictions about Israel and Netanyahu though and is a bit too much of a paranoid conspiracy theorist to me.

Yes. This is a big part of why TNG has broad appeal: the progressivism is tempered by a conservative emphasis on duty, the chain of command, respect for the law etc. A very 80s / early 90s combination.
Jean-Luc Picard remains the single most compelling vision of progressive politics I am familiar with — secular, rational, compassionate, egalitarian; a believer in progress & abundance but also duty, hard work, and a constant battle for self-improvement and improving the world.

Coinbase finally beat earnings after 4 quarters of whiffs, and $COIN stock falls 15% anyway because of Binance and tech stocks. Market just doesn’t buy the story anymore. High fee retail trading is dead, and the rest of the business is just a conglomerate of low growth, low margin, highly competitive businesses with no moat, cobbled together via a bunch of expensive acquisitions. Tough stock to own. Need some better publicly traded crypto companies. The current crop of failed IPOs is killing the sector.

In honour of Sir Patrick Stewart’s passing, here are my top ten episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation: 1. The Inner Light (S5 Ep. 25) 2. Tapestry (S6 Ep. 15) 3. The Measure of a Man (S1 Ep. 9) 4. Darmok (S5 Ep. 2) 5. The Drumhead (S4 Ep. 21) 6. The Pegasus (S7 Ep. 12) 7. I, Borg (S5 Ep. 23) 8. Who Watches the Watchers (S3 Ep. 4) 9. Ensign Ro (S5 Ep. 3) 10. Cause and Effect (S5 Ep. 18) All are philosophically very interesting and most are carried by Stewart’s performance. I highly recommend them.

Claude is speculating this and the Binance hack were related
For anyone confused about what happened with Cursor: Someone slipped a malicious version of the Claude Code extension into Cursor's marketplace. Developers who installed it could unknowingly give attackers access to their computers. Up to 5,000 users may have been affected. Cursor has removed it, but affected users still need to secure their systems. This is why AI security is becoming such a big deal!

Every day — sometimes multiple times per day — this absurd malevolent figure lies outrageously or delusionally about something. There's never been anyone like this in national politics.

US IRAN WAR COSTS SURPASS $47 BILLION, PENTAGON ESTIMATES The US military has spent more than $47 billion on the war in Iran, according to Pentagon data reviewed by Reuters, exceeding the Defense Department’s July estimate by over 25%. The costs include more than $29 billion to replenish munitions and over $6 billion to replace military equipment. The estimate does not clearly account for repairs to US bases damaged by Iranian missile and drone attacks.

I think Vivek is a uniquely bad candidate for Ohio. But the house and Senate candidates are direct checks on Trump, governor isn't really that. So id expect Democrats to do way better in Senate and house than governorship.
Another great poll that tracks both with the fundamentals of Ohio and what I've been saying the whole time... The Republocan Gov. Candidate (Vivek) will outrun the Republican Senate candidate (Husted) by about 2%

Trump won the popular vote and an electoral college landslide with an historic mandate. The GOP controlled the House, Senate, White House, and a 6-3 SCOTUS majority. Then they blew it all away by fighting Israel’s war. THEY HAVE NOBODY TO BLAME BUT THEMSELVES.

The whole Cheesecake Factory thing is such a pre-2016 nostalgia trip. I almost forgot this is what political discourse was for years, manufactured rage about beige suits and Obama maybe being too fancy. The whole thing might as well be scored by MGMT.
Your boss Obama’s joke is Cheesecake Factory has a cheap & garish design. Most normal Americans consider Cheesecake to be a high end, expensive place to eat reserved for special occasions. You guys are tone deaf. And, yes, I’m clearly too dumb to comprehend your brilliance too.

It’s a very good movie but if your takeaway is that Elizabeth Holmes might be a neurodivergent victim I think you have forcibly disconnected yourself from reality. More specifically, she *obviously* gets The Who’s on First joke—and is profoundly motivated to pretend she doesn’t.

Holy shit. His analysis here is so good it’s worrying. It’s actually straight up better than what you get from the best of CNN. You have to see this
Nick Fuentes wants Democrats to win the midterms so an outsider can take 2028 "We have to hսrt Vance. We have to hսrt Rubio politically in the hopes that in '27, when the primary starts, an outsider will enter the race and be favored for being an outsider."
