Just Above The Hobby Horse's Head. Charcoal, eraser, chalk on 300g paper 200x140cm 2023. Potential difficulties have been hanging axe like over the studio this year. It's made it difficult to paint just in case the axe falls. I hadn't realised how difficult this was making things

Tough times in the studio, terribly blocked, distracted. Not a whinge, just clearing the decks. The drawings currently on the wall are being awkward and casting doubt on everything. Here's the last finished drawing for a bit. Post Apotheosis. Charcoal on paper 140x100cm. Cheers.

Just doorsteped by the Jehovas. They lasted 20 minutes. Not quite the record but a valiant effort nonetheless.

Got a "handbrake" work on the wall. I know it's got problems, not sure if it fits, and it is throwing shade in everything else out of its own inferiority. Gnawing at me that I can't find an answer for it.

Studio was under threat, looks like I have a reprieve. It's been impossible to paint with the thought of being turfed out hanging. I limited myself to drawing and maquettes but looking forward to painting again.
