Prohibitionists responding to the DEA's finding of no reported fatal marijuana overdoses with "nobody overdoses on cigarettes either" is intellectually embarrassing.
Cigarettes kill ~480K Americans per year through chronic exposure.
Cannabis has no comparable mortality profile.
Nobody is arguing cannabis is risk-free. But conflating acute toxicity with chronic disease to defend prohibition isn't science. It's advocacy masquerading as science.
