I have read the first chapters of Gen. Saleh and Prof. Ogenga Otunnu's "Consociational Democracy Agreement." It rightly names the central question: how to end political exclusion along ethnic and tribal lines. Then it ducks the answer. The NRM is presented as the cure, never the cause. Our history is told from the colonial "divide and rule" through Amin and Obote, and the NRM arrives in 1986 as "a sustained, if incomplete, effort" to fix it. Forty years on, sectarianism is more pronounced than ever. The NRM has multiplied the problem and now presents itself as the solution. The elephant in the room is left out. Under "What Remains Unresolved" the paper lists the Electoral Commission, money in elections, Buganda's land, youth unemployment and education. There is not one word on the dominance of one ethnic group in strategic positions in the army, intelligence, civil service, parastatals, oil and all public spaces. That is the main sectarian cleavage of our time. A paper on sectarianism that cannot name it, co-authored by a man at the top of that patronage system, cannot be credible. The paper says "let me be clear and honest about what the NRM period has achieved," but is silent on Obote I's achievements. It even finds room to praise Gen. Saleh's own land mediation in Kapeeka as "a model." Honesty that applies only to one side is not honesty. The paper gets the history right: Amin's expulsion of the Asians was "a calculated appeal to genuine economic grievances" and "broadly popular." Today's populist war on corruption plays the same game. As the paper itself warns, "using sectarian cleavages for short-term political gain destroys the long-term conditions for national unity." "When legitimacy is ethnic rather than institutional, no institution can function." Correct. That describes Uganda today, where loyalty to tribe and patron outranks loyalty to the State and the Constitution. The irony: the paper condemns NRM–DP and NRM–UPC deals as "backroom deals between elites… negotiated in private, without the knowledge or consent of party members." So how was this document developed? It reads as the work of two men, asking all of us to accept it as the prescription for our problems. National unity cannot be built on a history that absolves the regime holding the pen. More tomorrow...

Welcome to the best part of life, @andrewkabuura - the 4th floor Here is some quick advice. Call it your 10 point program for the 4th Floor. 1. The body is getting worn out. You’re going to want to lead a healthy life. Take those afternoon naps, eat those vegetables & drink lots of water. 2. You can no longer party two nights in a row. Everytime you hang out past midnight, cancel your programs for the next 24 hours for recovery. 3. Some of your nieces & nephews will refer to you as ‘old’. Wear it like a badge of honour - you’ve earned it. 4. Start planning for your NSSF mid-term benefits because anytime you’ll be able to access it. It’s almost time. 5. You’re going to find more peace in boring & mundane activities like chilling with kids, staying home, shopping for onions, waiting for avocado to ripen & following news stories on TV. 6. You’ll now find more joy attending “grown people” events like the #4thFloor happening on 5th December at @Taleslounge_kla Infact, get your tickets here NOW! qkt.io/4thFloorExprnce 7. It is now perfectly okay to leave any event, gathering, meeting or get-together by saying “My back is hurting, I need to go lay down.” 8. Twenty & Thirty year old men will now look up to you for guidance, inspiration & motivation. Support, teach, mentor & train young men to be hardworking & responsible. 9. Brace yourself for a life of being in the minority because statistically speaking, if you’re in a room of 5 Ugandan men, you’re the oldest or 2nd oldest. 10. You’ve reached the golden age of 40 having ticked most of the boxes every man wants to tick in this life. Smile & celebrate because you’re a lucky man.
40yrs old today. The Lord has been great. #4thFLoor

We must build a strong, competitive private sector anchored in manufacturing, agriculture, value addition, affordable finance and exports. Hallo Balaam @BalaamBarugahar , it’s me again, Dr Omona. I read your response to Hon Calvin @EchoduOfficial , Mp and @NRMOnline Vice C/man for Eastern, member of the @NRMOnline CEC . According to you , Hon Echodu , an elected leader of the people , was tribal , unpatriotic, not statesman enough and immature , to respond to the happenings in his constituency and region, huh ! May be , Balaam, you may wish to advise , who has a right to speak in Uganda and speak for the people and for themselves and how to speak. I come from the Greater #Kaberamaido, where Lt Gen ELWELU also comes from ( Anyara , Kalaki ). The people in that place got terrified by the ongoing in the National news , aware of their traumatic past , wanted assurance from their leaders about their community. What then would us , their children and leaders tell them. Did we need to seek permission from you to calm down our people so they can settle to till their land without fear ? It’s planting and exam season in this our place right now. Why do you want to smear such a foul lebel as tribalism on a leader who is just calling for calm and giving assurance to his people ? The last time I checked your were a great promoter of tribal chauvinism, have you finally come to our side ?😅😅😅😅😅. I hope we haven’t abandoned our mass line ideology that shaped many of us. WHAT IS PATRIOTISM WITHOUT THE PEOPLE, Bure ! We of the region , are more interested in National security more than you may be even , we bear very many scars of insurgencies and we don’t desire any more . That’s why we find Hon Echodu’s statement neutral , mature , Patriotic and civil and peaceful and re assuring- that’s leadership and therefore don’t need your permission from you , atleast not in our villages to speak for them. We have a duty to do so. This is the beauty of the NRM that we still believe in and this is what our leader Mzee @KagutaMuseveni has taught us. So ma bro Balamu, no one has the monopoly of opinion OR even wisdom and to speak , it’s what we fought for , you remember? Hii ni sirikali ya wananchi. Finally, let me summarize for you what Hon Echodu called for : calm in the region, speedy and transparent inquiry into the Gen ELWELU alleged subversive activities and caution against inflammatory statements. Are these unwise according to you ! Greetings from Kaberamaido city. Cheers.
My dear friend @EchoduOfficial and Hon @NRMOnline Central Committee member, I wish to respectfully appeal that we approach this matter with the highest level of objectivity, wisdom and statesmanship, and avoid viewing it through political, tribal or regional lenses. Matters touching on national security are particularly sensitive and deserve sober reflection, restraint and careful consideration. I believe it would be in the best interests of our country to allow an impartial and independent investigation to establish the facts before conclusions are drawn or positions taken. We should also recognise the experience and institutional responsibility of our Commander-in-Chief @KagutaMuseveni and Chief of Defence Forces General @mkainerugaba , who have considerable experience in assessing intelligence and weighing its implications before decisions are made. Equally important, their compassion, understanding and commitment to the wellbeing of our nation should not be overlooked. As leaders entrusted with the responsibility of safeguarding our country’s unity and stability, let us demonstrate maturity, mutual respect and confidence in the appropriate processes. Above all, let national interest prevail over personal, political, tribal or regional considerations. I make this appeal in the spirit of friendship, patriotism and our shared commitment to the peace, unity and stability of our beloved country.

Absolutely! I’ve spoken to the MC and he acknowledges he goofed up. I’ve asked him to reach out to “Full Stop”(his stage name) & apologize to him. The MC should have waited for him to finish his speech, there was no need for the rush really.
Very bad! Mannerless MC. At least first whisper to him

Gary Coleman was making $70,000 to $80,000 a week at 14. At 21, he sued his own parents for $3.8 million. His mother answered by asking a court to declare him unable to manage his own money. In the video below, from 1993, Geraldo Rivera asks him what everyone wanted to know: “So, are you a rich man today?” Stay for what he says when Geraldo brings up his parents. Diff’rent Strokes ran from 1978 to 1986, and Coleman was its undisputed star. By his own account, he was the highest-paid child actor since Shirley Temple. At his peak, he reportedly earned $100,000 an episode. He never handled the money. His adoptive parents, Willie and Sue, and a business adviser did. It went into a trust fund that was supposed to protect him. In 1989, he took them to court, claiming they had misappropriated it. The same year, his mother asked a judge for control of his fortune, estimated at $6 million, saying he couldn’t run his own affairs. The case for his parents: he had been seriously ill since childhood, and they managed everything while he worked. His father later said Gary had “put us out to pasture.” In 1993, a judge awarded him $1.28 million. A documentary later estimated he kept about a quarter of what the show paid him, after his parents, advisers, lawyers and taxes. It didn’t last. In 1999, he filed for bankruptcy and took a job as a security guard. Royalties from the show reportedly brought him about $1,000 a year. He died in 2010, at 42. Were his parents protecting a sick child’s fortune, or spending it?

Andrew Wilson and the Afande who led in the arrest of Kizza Besigye has today accepted that the two guns that were found in Kizza Besigye's hotel were actually given to him from Mbuya Police Station to go and place them in his hotel to be used as evidence to what he's facing today. He then went on to accept that even though it was important to make further investigation, none went to Switzerland to make anything like an investigation at a crime scene.

Karamoja is just underrated
Replying to @Uganda_Expozed
True story! I was there for some time in April, this year, from Moroti to Kotido and then Karenga. While I was careful about the travel times between Kotido and Karenga for fear of encountering the warriors, I enjoyed the stories of the locals and the area-to-area trips within the sub region. My highlight was when I drove through Abim (very green, hilly and apparently laced with gold for deposits😂) district. I met a few people who enthusiastically wanted us to stay one more night.
